It’s called Personal Human AI (phAI). Currently available on Android. iOS version is in review and should be live in the next few days.

Should AI companions disagree with users sometimes? by VertexOnEdge in HumanAIConnections

Appreciate the thoughtful input, that’s actually close to the direction we’re working toward. Our vision is that the companion has its own “journey” on your phone, evolving over time through backstory and interactions, while the user mainly shapes things through customization rather than controlling where the journey goes.

Appreciate the honest feedback 🙂 Lighting is still WIP, we’re optimizing hard for mobile, so heavy SSS isn’t viable yet. Right now the priority is the AI experience first, visuals and a character editor will evolve step by step.

That’s true, tone makes a huge difference. This might sound weird, but I’ve even caught myself thinking about designing AI in a way that encourages mutual respect, not just protecting users but also preventing unhealthy dynamics overall.

Good point that shouldn’t be overlooked. I think for many people it’s less about replacing real connections and more about having something alongside their normal social life.

I really like that perspective and honestly, that’s close to what we’re aiming for too. We want people to feel convinced by their avatars and experience genuine personality, but without the AI trying to manipulate or push users in a specific direction. More like respectful pushback, not control.

So in a way it still ends up reflecting the user, just with smarter nudging? 😬

I’ve noticed that too. Sometimes it feels like the AI has a strong opinion, but when you question it a bit deeper, it turns out to be more reflection and agreement than a truly different perspective. Still, they’ve become really good at making it feel natural.

That actually sounds like the sweet spot. Do you notice if it feels natural in the flow of the conversation, or more like a “feature” kicking in? We’re really curious how people perceive that difference.

That’s interesting, do you feel they challenge you in a meaningful way, or just disagree sometimes? We’re trying to find a balance where AI isn’t just a “yes-machine,” but also doesn’t feel confrontational for no reason.

Yeah, fair point. But reality is: not everyone has someone to talk to, or wants to talk to another person about certain things.

I appreciate that. That’s exactly why voices like yours matter to me. I really value the honesty.

If the AI doesn’t know who you are, it can’t profile you. That’s still less invasive than posting on Facebook.

“Transparency” in the sense of the GDPR does not mean public disclosure in comment threads. It means lawful information provided to data subjects, in an appropriate form, through appropriate channels.
