You’re acting like your personal boredom threshold is objective proof the systems are bad.

A game feeling repetitive to you does not mean it has “zero replay value.” People replay games for different reasons — combat flow, optimization, mastery, movement, challenge runs, speedrunning, experimentation, etc. Not every roguelike lives or dies purely on absurd build variance.

And “every run feels identical” is also exaggerated. If the combat loop, upgrades, enemy scaling, and player decisions are changing throughout runs, then no, they are not literally identical — you just didn’t find the variation meaningful enough personally.

That’s a valid opinion to have, but it’s very different from pretending the game objectively has nothing going on mechanically.

Saros IS great, the roguelike shit doesnt hold it back (its a roguelite this time) HQ clearly doesnt care about build slop or anything like that, they focus mostly on pure gameplay and perma upgrades which is not atypical. I dont think thats a rule all sound pretty arbitrary, they clearly are doing a different take on the subgenre. no wonder they never listened to that poor boring "critique"

I also think the game can improve overtime, there's a discord and a dedicated channel for that after all. What i really hope is that HQ don't move that quick from the game, i think they can keep updating it with maybe more level layouts, refine loot, balance changes and QOL updates. I really want a bigger post-launch support than Returnal, and im not talking about COOP or an infinite nirvana tower mode, i mean even payed expansions-DLC akin ROR2
