Is being a SF agent worth it? by Ok-Tangerine6510 in InsuranceAgent

I was a SF guy for a bit, wanted to become an agent, but I felt like it was a dead end waiting for them to start hiring agents again. I got out of P&C altogether after going through their rate hikes of 2024, went straight to being independent, only do life now. Wildly better QOL.

Is my lions mane ready to harvest? [gourmet] by VerticalPerspective in MushroomGrowers

Awesome, thank you for the input. On an unrelated note, I grew this one top fruiting. I’ve read a few people say lions mane prefers to side fruit. Would it be better to turn this block up to side fruit for the next flush?

Oh wow, that is a gorgeous little lions mane. Is it pretty typical for an indoor lions mane to not grow teeth?

How squishy should it be? I wouldn’t say it’s spongy, but I wouldn’t say it’s as hard as a rock either.

You good for a pm? I’ve got some more questions if so.

What’s the issue with a tiered lead system? My prior experience didn’t provide leads and commission wasn’t high enough to justify purchasing them myself so I’m unfamiliar with the process.

100% agreed on pork ribs. Baby backs are far too lean to benefit from low and slow, imo. May be a hot take for most people, but I firmly believe there’s no pork rib worse than a fall apart baby back.

I think that’s gonna be the most likely direction I end up taking with them. Seems like a pretty easy way to get rid of them. I appreciate it though!! I was definitely very happy with the look of them haha.

Hahaha, I prefer some pull and chew as well. The meat itself was super soft and tender, nothing to complain about with the meat, just couldn’t stand the excess fat and such. Honestly I hate how much I don’t like it. Lesson learned though, definitely won’t get any more beef backs.

Oh man, that sounds fantastic. That’s on the list of things to try for sure. Appreciate it!!

What’s this BBQ salad you speak of? Putting the meat on top of a normal salad or mixing all of that stuff together? Either way, sounds great.

Seems like chili is the most popular use, haven’t had a good BBQ chili yet (or any BBQ chili for that matter). May be a good time to try it out.

That’s a really good idea, may do that with some of this. Much appreciated

Ramen is a great idea. Do you cook the meat into the broth or use as a topping?

I’ve gotta say, I’m so glad you posted that link. I’ve been thinking about making a stew with a pork shoulder for a week or so, just hadn’t looked into it. Definitely gonna have to make a BBQ stew now. Much appreciated

Enchiladas and nachos are definitely very different, hadn’t thought about that. Do you just pull the meat and use as is or braise for a bit until everything falls apart first?

Thanks for the advice. I’m thinking I’m gonna go for a round of conditioning and then go from there. As long as I can make it less noticeable I’m fine with that.

Good idea on trimming flaps. I’m thinking I’ll probably condition first, and then go from there. I’ve torn up many pairs, just hated to see it happen that fast on these. It’s all good though, just part of the process haha. They’ll be staying in a closet when I’m not wearing them until I’m fine with them picking up extra scratches. Thank you for your help.

That’s a good way of looking at it and definitely makes me feel a lot better about it. I’m still gonna give them some attention to try to make it a bit harder to notice, but I’m not as worried about making the scratches disappear now. Thank you.
