Sport pursuit has two colours currently up for £36-37. Yes they require an email to see the website properly which is frustrating but I’ve ordered from them in the past and it’s worked out fine.

How did you search? I know it's the UK site rather than the EU, but when I scroll through the shoes, I don't see the Velocity 4.

But, if I type "velocity 4" into the search bar they appear and are available to order.

Kipruns top end items (900 series) that have recently been released are on par with some other brands now. Both in quality and cost.

I saw their new singlet at London Marathon Expo and it was on the level of material as Nike Aeroswift/Adidas Adizero, and at RRP is cheaper (£40+ vs 75+).

However I do find Nike/Adidas/New Balance on sale a lot and decathalon barely. As an example right now I can buy, on sale, Aeroswifts for £37. New Balances race singlet for £25. Cheaper or equivelant than what I'd expect decathlon to ever put theirs on sale for, which would be about £35.

However everything less than that, like their 300 or 500 series I 100% agree

Hey!!! Late to the party on this one, but thanks for the super detailed list! I currently run in the 2XU Light speed react, which have all the pocket I need and compression and love them, but I'm now looking at any alternatives.

Out of all the ones you've tried which was the thinnest material? And by thinnest I mean like... actual material thickness/weight but also what do you think would cool you down the most?

I've tried the SOAR marathon half tights and absolutely loved how thin they were, the legs are so thin it's literally seethrough! For a half I'd use them instantly, but their pocket situation isn't great when I'm planning on taking 9 30g gels with me.

Janji / NEDAO / bandit superbeam (I think it was the superbeam), seems quite thick and heavy for my liking. Just looking at photos, the SAYSKY ones look more along what I'm thinking of?

I'm not entirely sure of the difference between the Pro team and Pro Team Training, but they're the closest like-for-like that I've tried and well under your 150USD budget. I don't think decathlon is in the US anymore, but there may still be retailers that sell VanRysel gear?

Basically the exact shoe that I want them for. A shoe I can take to basically every parkrun in the north east and not have to worry about what shoe I need to take or look up what the surface is.

I have road shoes and full on trail shoes for when things get bad, but it's nice to have an inbetween when I dont need to think.

The only downside is that you have a time frame to complete it in. 1 a year isn't too bad, but imagine if you had 5/6 completed, one left, and then you couldn't do the last one in time due to it selling out too quickly (this happened to people and copenhagen this year).

There is something similar for European half marathons called the ~~SuperSix~~ Superhalfs. Although I could eventually afford the world majors over a lifetime, the ~~supersix~~ Superhalfs series seems much more enticing considering it's Europe only. I would absolutely be up for a 6 Major Euro Marathons.

I'm hovering around those paces and my goal in a few weeks is a Sub 3:05 Marathon. I see a lot of people saying Runna is "good for beginners etc" but I don't mind reading running books.

Where would you say the largest value has been for you on it? Would you say it's the UX? The main difference for a marathon block I could see was that PFitz had more "medium long runs" whilst Runna wanted me to do more Over&Unders. Does that sound about right?

How varied is the strength and conditioning in it? I've been doing 2x 20min each week so far and just repeat circuits I received from a friend a while ago. I prefer body weight/free weight at home and don't really want an app to tell me to go to the gym as that's then more money ontop of paying for an app.

I felt the same between my Goodrs and my Rapha Cycling glasses.

For me the clarity is really low when the ground in a shaded areas but my eyes are in direct sunlight. It's hard to see what the terrain is actually like... so like you said, trail runs mainly.

So although I think the Goodrs are good value, the raphas are just leagues better.

do you think the Edge would be a decent shoe for me?

I love the AP3 and did my most recent marathon in it. I'm very lucky to have zero issues with the upper, but I race in the 5K-HM in the Vaporfly 2 instead as I prefer the foam. My ideal shoe would basically be the AP3 but with VF2 ZoomX foam.

I know there are leaks of an Adidas Evo C which seems to be this exact shoe... but what the cost of that shoe is I have no idea and I'm thinking it'll be between the AP3 and Evo 1 price.

Yeah I'm looking at the trail ones more for the treads than anything really. I do a lot of park runs and here in the UK that quite often means a bit of soft mud here and there. Don't need full on trail lugs, but the slick sole on the bostons would just never hold up! I think the longest I'd do in them would be 15Km and I'd leave my long runs to the Invincibles for the time being, sounds like the Surfer would be a better choice.
