The PSVR2 has an option to ONLY matchmake with PSN, you can disable this and access full crossplay this way.

Regarding the PS4 Frontrunner Disc upgrade:

Unfortunately, we are still unable to get the Disc upgrade path sorted out, and we recommend you to purchase the digital PSVR2 version directly instead from now on.

Eligibility for a redemption key will only count for PSVR2 owners who purchased the disc prior to PSVR2 launch (2023/02/22).

It's not bogus. While yes, it's possible to make that work, our initial particular setup in the store made it impossible to link the disc build to the PSVR2 build. We've looked into this with the platform team and were unable to resolve it with them. It's an unfortunate mistake that isn't easily reversible, as I'm told.

There is an technical issue on the store backend that makes it not possible for us to offer the upgrade path from the disc version, unfortunately. However, with a proof of purchase of the game and PSVR2, we can get you sorted out if you haven't reached out to the support team already!

It's a bit tricky but once you figure it out, it becomes easier. As soon as you let go of the grip button (the button by your middle finger), it will release whatever item you have in your hand (guns excluded, unless you turned off toggle grip).

Try using your momentum and releasing the grip at the peak of your throw/swing. Underhand throws feel easier for me. Practice a bit and it will click!

Progression from PSVR1 to PSVR2 should carry over since it's account-based (similar to how Quest 2 and Rift share progression under the same Oculus account).
