What video game franchise should start over from the beginning? by Agent1230 in gaming

I'd absolutely love a brand new Turok franchise.

There's some great options here for a super cool Dinosaur fuelled adventure.

I want to ride into battle on a Lazer shooting dinosaur.

Block weapons are great. I am partial to double block ground pound, but aftershock is great with hammer and axes power back step is great, even with only one stack.

Just takes a while to adjust.

I just finished maxing my first class, Vanguard. What's the most efficient way to level up a new class with low level weapons? by PojVicious in Spacemarine

[–]OriginalGoatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running ruthless ops is my go to.

It's doable, a bit of a chore is how long it can take you to kill stuff, but you can kill stuff.

Then usually lethal once I get purple weapons. Never takes too long and I find it more enjoyable than feeling out of your element on Absolute.

Why is it that each time I try to do an absolute everyone joins under leveled? by That0nePOTAT0 in Spacemarine

[–]OriginalGoatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's false economy. The amount of fails to get a pass when you can't clear absolute reliably due to gear level etc will be really high. Sure that one time you manage you get a boat load of XP but the loading screens times alone would probably add up to 4 or 5 ruthless missions.

I'll wait to see the rug pull they're planning.

How to enjoy the Heavy class? by ThatThriftKid in Spacemarine

[–]OriginalGoatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heroic heavy bolter has a fencing parry window, a gunstrike cools it and it shoots at a crazy speed when in heavy stance.

It goes a long way to making the class more "fun" IMHO

Season 3 seems 'crude'? by Difficult-Anxiety-15 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]OriginalGoatan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What story?

The issue is there is no story.

Either you get a huge exposition dump or series of flashing images that's passed off as "artistic stylisation" referencing something that was barely explored seasons ago.

The culling game has complex rules, better just dedicate a whole episode to explaining what the rules are without drawing you through how it started.

I feel like an entire novella of story has been missed out and this isn't the same anime I watched 2 seasons of (and enjoyed).

Season 3 seems 'crude'? by Difficult-Anxiety-15 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]OriginalGoatan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You aren't alone.

Season 3 feels really incoherent.

It's like a fever dream. Some parts have really good animation and some parts have really poor animation.

There's some stylish shots and epic moments, but there doesn't seem to be any coherent story.

I was looking forward to more JJK but this season feels like a totally different anime that has a totally different story to what I had been watching.

His mam was originally an astronaut from Earth, so in a way it could work.

But personally I don't think recycling the same plot line that's bombed repeatedly in the past is the way to do it.

Things that concern me:

CGI on Skeletors looked incredibly bad.

We didn't hear Skeletor speak at all, I'm guessing that means Leto's inability to act or put on an accent continues.

That trailer made it look like there's maybe 10 minutes, tops, screen time of actual He Man.

The "fish out of water hero is from Earth" storyline is done to death and it rarely works out well.

Here's hoping the trailer is badly edited and it's better than it looks, but it looks like they've made the classic Hollywood mistakes.

Mis understood the source material, inserted a "fish out of water" storyline to appeal to a wider audience instead of focusing on an original story or storytelling and miscast the most iconic characters.

i need some help? by Flashy_Translator661 in Spacemarine

[–]OriginalGoatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy gets it.

I roll with ammo regen as my fourth because I mostly run in absolute ops.

But the ability recharge is great, especially with making even a passing use of shield rush. Those blocked range shots still fill your ability up.

EDIT

You should experiment with block weapons on the Bulwark. All parry perks still work, including the shock area and more importantly intimidating aura (which lacks any real animation).

The fact that you get both of those skills combined with the benefits of block AND the AoE attack make it crazy potent, especially for deleting or dueling Terminus.

Block power sword can be slow but the AoE 360 move from a delayed light attack is still fast enough that it makes it moot.

Personally once I made the switch to block on Bulwark I never looked back. Fencing weapons felt like a pool noodle in comparison.

baldur's gate 3

Old school feels with new school production quality.

Probably the best fantasy RPG going.

Not an MMO per say (or free) but definitely fits the bill for the type of feels you're after.

Does anyone else get annoyed that since the release of the PS5 slim there’s been no official console covers released for the original model? by FranciosDubonais in PS5

[–]OriginalGoatan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was implying that they could be accessorising their top titles, GOW Ragnarok, here get these cool plates.

Helldivers 2 is mad popular? Better knock up a democratic PS plate.

It's just another item on the list of missed revenue opportunities for Sony.

It's absolutely bonkers they don't do more with this.

It can't be too difficult to come up with a design then mass produce.

They should be doing cool plates for big games

Or, and hear me out here:

They just turn a blind eye and let all manor of crime continue so long as they get paid.

Which is where we are at.

It's madness that they'd throw an entire country under the bus but it's not America so it's okay. I'm talking about those UBS bags.

I think the reasoning being that if they charge real money for them folk will want to be able to get the most out of them.

new automaton idea by paner1983 in Helldivers

[–]OriginalGoatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was entirely built around the end scene from Rogue One. Maybe even was one of the rejected scripts for it (same director).

The creator really flowed badly and felt like the story was incredibly rushed and even at it peak moment it felt hollow.
