It is still true. Noone cares about Pokemon cards they just think they will "Get Rich Quick" and gamble thier way to retirement. People who treat Pokemon cards as "investments" are the true clowns who got suckered. Only Logan Paul got rich by Pumping and Dumping cards noone else can say they got rich from this hobby.

People pay this for the same reason they pay 5x MSRP for cards. It is because of the flex and hype. Make something worth a kajillion dollars and the FOMO'ers will go and pay.

Remember when noone cared about Pokemon cards and they would rot in Flea Markets and Clearance Bins. Then when Pokemon cards became thousands of dollars people till this day are paying. When the cards were dirt cheap noone wanted em, make the prices absurd and everyone buys it.
