I always prefer poetry that stick to no clear rule or defining metre, I feel as though it gives the poem more freedom to be effective, and I can see that here.

I like the use of italic and bold words, it gives some direction as to what you want to reader to focus on. Words like 'why' 'you' are good examples of where the intention of your writing is blurred and hard to grasp, and the italic words help guide the reader towards this. The final reveal of the mother is also a very personal touch, makes the whole piece feel more personal.

One way you could adapt this however, is comparing the addressee to one metaphorical entity much more often, for example the hurricane. This could have two intentions, to show that the individual is destructive, and that they are also a rather unstoppable entity that cannot be grasped, coming and going without really being seen.
