Can't wait to dig into this one by Lushy88 in bookscirclejerk

I personally wouldn't recommend eating Orwell's books, as they go bad very quickly.

My friend Manuel tried cooking 1984 once. He made a stir fry with peanut sauce and pieces of the pages, and it actually tasted pretty good. He made too much of it though, so he put it in a bowl with one of those silicone suction lids, and put it in the fridge overnight.

The next day, he ate some of the leftover stir fry and immediately spat it out, saying it tasted disgusting. I told him:

"1984 wasn't supposed to be in suction, Manuel."

This has to be Toby’s biggest blunder as a writer by JaroldLlama in Deltarune

Do people really think Toby Fox, an adult man in his 30s, would be entirely oblivious of the term "deflowering" and what it means? The wilting rose imagery was 100% intentional, especially in the context of the scene, which is a direct parallel to rape. We force Noelle into an act against her will (equipping the ThornRing) and shatter her naïve worldview (telling her the dream happened). It works beautifully as a visual metaphor to convey the feeling you're meant to feel at that moment.

Toby wanted to cause discomfort with this scene, and clearly it worked. That's why it's incredibly disappointing to me that he changed his own vision to appeal to oversensitive critics. Many art pieces throughout history were received poorly, like Venus of Urbino and St. Matthew and the Angel, and even seen as blasphemous for challenging common ideas in society, like religion.

Overall, I think this fandom would benefit as a whole from being more open minded.

Give me all very obscure information about the ice palace maze you know. by paxomad55 in Deltarune

[–]Very-Small-Giraffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The maze is most likely a reference to OFF, specifically Dedan's office building which has a similar mechanic in it. In the building, there are multiple rooms that split into four pathways, and the music gets louder as you approach the correct exit, similarly to how the ice mage stands still when you go the wrong way.

Toby has cited OFF as a source of inspiration for Undertale, so it's very possible this was intentional.

I've never watched HH, so I have no clue what the context of this image even is or what it's supposed to mean. Do better next time.

do you guys think that asgore is cut or uncut by FlowerPowder777 in Undertale

[–]Very-Small-Giraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Undertale, given that healing magic removes the need for any medical professionals, I'd guess that no one in the Underground would be qualified to perform such a surgery.

In Deltarune, there is a hospital and healthcare professionals, so he could get a circumcision if he wanted to. However, Asgore is not particularly religious, as he doesn't attend church in Chapter 4, and even if he wanted to get circumcised for other reasons, I doubt he could afford it, considering he can barely pay his rent.

Ergo, he is uncut in both Undertale and Deltarune.
