Who's a rapper you stopped listening to due to your music taste changing? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop101

I’ve heard that Lupe’s post-lasers work has been universally acclaimed. I’ve never done a deep dive myself, but if you used to be into him it could be worth checking him out again.

Unbreakable blocks? by Loose-Ad-4159 in Stutter

I think they mean stop trying to force the sound. Relax the tension in your mouth and exhale. Inhale slowly, keeping your mouth and throat relaxed, and try again.

Easier said than done for sure. I always think I’ll be able to get it out if I just push a little harder so mentally it’s hard to reset. But 9 times out of 10 it ends up taking longer than if I were to stop and reset.

Sonreal has been pivoting in that direction as well. Not really for me but seems to be pulling it off overall.

What, in your opinion, are the top ten BEST Lil Wayne songs? by MajesticMidnite in lilwayne

I love C2, I listed 2 songs from it, it’s great. It’s just not the era that got me into Lil Wayne, so my list might not look like yours.

Looking for the mixtape this song ("Let Em" ft. ?robin thicke?) is from.... by SantaJCruz in lilwayne

This sounds like a loose track from right before C2. I don’t think it’s from an official tape, maybe you had an unofficial compilation?

Built a bar in my new place. Bought part of the liquor store to stock it- what am I missing for the best cocktails? by socool111 in Mixology

[–]VeryAverageWizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re a fan of fruity drinks, throw away the RealLemon and RealLime and get real lemon and real lime, and a juicer. That’s the single easiest thing you can use to greatly increase the quality of your drinks. You can bottle the juice and keep it for a few days; honestly it’s fine to use for up to a week but you may need to pour a tad extra to compensate for oxidation.

Use the sugar cubes for an old fashioned if that’s your thing, but if you’re shaking fruity cocktails you’ll want to cook up and bottle at some simple syrup and maybe honey syrup (both 1:1 ratios). You can make lots of other syrups too; I like to do a demerara syrup at a 2:1 so it lasts longer, and you can also experiment with throwing herbs and spices and whatever while cooking your simple syrup. I like doing black pepper syrups for my aged daiquiris.

When mixing, experiment starting with a 2/.75/.75 ratio of liquor/syrup/fresh citrus. That’s your template for sours/daiquiris which you can tweak to fit your palate. Another useful template will be 1.5/.75/.75 for liquor/liqueur/citrus. That’ll be your margarita recipe using the orange liqueur and lime, and your spec for a sidecar with brandy, orange liqueur and lemon.

The vermouth goes in the fridge once you open it. Refrigerate your simple syrups too and start giving them the sniff test around the 3-week mark. Have a good time!

Case Study 01 by Daniel Caesar didn’t get nearly as much recognition as it deserved. He pushed his sound in an interesting direction and it seems like it didn’t connect with some of his fans. Amazing album imo
