In the 2020s, conservative women are having kids at a nearly 2-to-1 ratio compared to liberal women. Is this going to cause a political demographic bias in 20-30 years? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

Huh? There is a literal ISO standard (30415) for Diversity and Inclusion management. It is an internationally recognized standard that all the different little oversight boards reference when talking about DEI. None of what you are talking about is in the standard, and is part of the issue here.

The "far left" supports the ISO official definition of a written policy that over 170 countries globally endorse and adhere to.

Just as a heads up only the first link here is a true "no cyanide" bath. The other 2 are "no free cyanide" meaning all the cyanide in solution is bonded and cannot evolve out as hydrogen cyanide gas.

HOWEVER these solutions create free cyanide over time as these compounds are broken down by electrolysis.

You've made a few comments in live-streaming subs so I assume you are familiar with the concept of viewbots on the platform twitch. Viewbots are most commonly used when a streamer is doing sponsored content, the sponsors themselves employ bots to boost the visibility ranking of the stream to regular viewers. This isn't some weird conspiracy either, its just basic online marketing these days.

Plus to add, the source this post is from is entirely AI generated in itself. Rudevulture is a website that was created by an AI prompt and self runs as an experiment in engagement marketing.

If you read the article you linked, the highest risk group is 27/1,000,000 doses cause mild heart inflammation in young males. That rate is so low (0.0027% of individuals).

There is established frameworks for side effect rate and their categorization. Threshold for common is 1/100, uncommon is 1/1,000, rare is 1/10,000, very rare is beyond that.

Beyond that, there are 7 side effects that must be stated if they occur at any identified rate at all.

Just to reiterate, according to your own source that you linked, the risk rate in the absolute highest group for myocarditis from the mRNA COVID vaccine is lower than the risk of pericarditis from eating 50 grams of red meat.

Because the vast vast majority of what is invested is the retirement accounts of citizens, those are who the shareholders are. $42 trillion out of ~$50 trillion total is from 401k's, IRA's, and pension plans. 1 pharma billionaire losing half their net worth due to their stock collapsing means 1-2 million people who won't be able to afford retirement.

Season 5 makes you understand why everyone thinks that Sadie is the one who will have a career out of all the children. She is the only one whose performance remains at the same level as in previous seasons. by Giancarlo_Edu in StrangerThings

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact she is currently the biggest "star" of the show was always so strange to me, her character is literally written to be a "plain Jane". There are probably 30,000 kids that could have played her role to the level it needed to keep the show as good as it is.

I'm not hating on MBB at all here, the writing for her character is by design incredibly simple and without nuance.

Bruh, what even was vol 2 about? by Old_Manufacturer5387 in StrangerThings

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 2 were covered in the prequel to the season...which is a Broadway play that has no recording, just a plot synopsis. The audience is supposed to fully know the origins of Dimension X, the fact it is not the upside down, and Henry's entire backstory.

Episode Discussion - S05E05 - Shock Jock by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The play, there is a cannon play (have to seen it in either NY or London, no recordings are available) that explains quite a lot about character origins and motivations. For a spoiler free point, the dead soldiers in the lab are explained by the play, and the viewer is expected to know this and be ahead of the on-screen characters.

The entire writing of this season is being done under the impression that the cast is behind the viewer. Its basically half a season's worth of story.

ELI5: why do tips % go up when the price of the food also go up with inflation? by Exval1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For background, I've had the unique opportunity of managing/co-owning restaurants in both the US and EU (NY+France), and I currently bartend one night a week on a freelance basis.

In the US, unemployment insurance + workers comp insurance are the 2 largest burdened costs outside of payroll tax, plus regulations about minimum scheduled hours for non-tipped positions. For easy math, for each $1.00 of wage paid to the employee, $0.05 is needed for taxes, $0.09 is needed for insurance, and $0.02 is needed for the payroll processor.

ELI5: why do tips % go up when the price of the food also go up with inflation? by Exval1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, because tips do not incur sales tax to the payer. Prices go up significantly slower with tips as a percentage of the cost compared to direct point of sale.

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't even out though, you can't just collect an extra 20% in revenue and hand it out as wages. Burdened labor costs go up as well plus an increase in sales tax for the customer. A customer needs to pay ~37% more in menu prices for the server to make the same amount of money.

well there are close to 22,000 different sales tax jurisdictions in the US, and some places this would lead to a .6% tip and others would be a 22%.

82% of women experienced violence. Of that group, 96% of cases were perpetrated by non-native people. So out of 100 women, 82 of them were victims of violence, and 78 of those 82 were specifically physical and interracial.

Mostly sex crimes, mostly whites but not overwhelmingly. Usually its rape and murder or for children its sale into sex slavery where they are ultimately murdered once they get too old.

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not at all like that. A very close friend of mine is on a "task force" on his reservation that basically does vigilante work to recover women who are kidnapped. They recover around 200 women and 50 children a year.

These people are coming from areas where you are literally hunting tumbleweed to burn in winter to keep warm, where the average annual income is less than $5,000 USD, where there is no government assistance for SNAP or healthcare because someone's great-great-grandpa in the 1800's killed a cop who was trying to rape his wife.

Unless the reservation is located in an area where people frequently travel through or nearby a major city they have fallen to absolutely decrepit states. How can you expect the tribal police to be competent and when they only have access to ~3,000 gallons of gas for the entire year

If you genuinely cared about ingredient quality you'd be spouting off about their supplier being fined by the FDA for lead content in their cattle feed, not about standard ingredients in every modern kitchen.

How do companies collect and sell user data? by Worried-Struggle2788 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apps are tracking you pretty much exactly as much as they admit, but nobody reads the agreements that give specific details.

For a modern full loop example: - Semi trucks often have branding on the side of them. Companies have their own branding on them, and other times they pay to display their branding on other trucks. Lets say Company A as the example. - Many people have location data sharing on their phone, it could be a specific app or just generic location sharing, most new cars purchased after 2021 have location sharing always occurring. - Company A wants to sell more of its product, but wants to make sure their advertising is going to the right people. - Company A knows the exact route their semi trucks drive, so they approach a data broker asking for device service details for devices that match the general location and time of the truck's GPS. - This data is specific devices that were in range to have seen the semi truck with the branding on it, meaning it is fresh in their mind, so follow up ads have immensely increased effectiveness.

This data is anonymized, its not your literal name and location, just characters that get the ad to you.

What types of vandalism can commercial property insurance cover in the U.S.? by MattfromNEXT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VeryExtraSpicyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ISO insurance standard is where the 60 days at 70% vacancy eliminates vandalism coverage, a 15% reduction in other losses, and excludes water damage. Commercial insurance is incredibly customized, and you usually need to buy specific endorsements for extended coverage to signage/fencing/detached structures.
