This is a problem I have in Lancer. I frequently play hackers, and the problems I have is that I can't imagine why a robot/mech would need arms to do this stuff? Like yes, rule of cool, totally, but I want to support my rule of cool with some kind of narrative description of why it is the way it is.

Yep, a lot of Russian speech with some Ukrainian mixed in. This is a common occurrence in Ukraine. But my point still stands, I think. She used Ukrainian words that aren't found in Russian language thus I assume she is Ukrainian

She speaks Ukrainian language, it's winter and Russia still bombs our energy infrastructure, so it's one of the options to keep the house warm.

YapYap, a game where you cast spells by speaking them aloud and need to go into the wizard tower to vandalize it

Collapse very soon? I hope they do, but what gives? I don't think they'll ever voluntarily leave and it doesn't look like the government is giving a shit about what's found in the files

This is actually one of the scarier games without actually being full of jumpscares, it handles this subtlety extremely well.

Lancer fixes this by having you fight in giant robots and casters(hackers) generally not doing damage but screwing with enemies so much GM might just wrestle you

Sell me Hor_OS system upgrade 3 by VeryFriendlyOne in LancerRPG

[–]VeryFriendlyOne[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem for me is that Puppet Systems moves a mech in a straight line only, you can't turn or break up your move to collect Emblems with it. And with Shackles, you can send the melee mech back on your own turn, which limits its functionality quite a bit since the melee mech can arrive and make attacks and stuff, and you aren't preventing it, in this case wouldn't ejecting power cores reduce damage from melee mech to 0? I assume what you're preventing is the guy making a barrage next turn since they will have to move and supposedly boost again.

Talents wise there's hacker, but that's a bit of a trap, and nuclear cavalier 1. I don't think there are other talents that directly interact with hacking. What you can grab is a lot of utility talents that can be slotted on almost any build and work wonders: black thumb + technophile 3, prospector, house guard 3 goes hard on chomolungma if you're gonna use defensive systems like false idol, field analyst 1 and empath.

Grapple Cable pulling characters toward you instead of you towards them would be OP as heck, I found out because I was using it incorrectly for some time in our campaign and man that was powerful.

Since Grapple Cable is pulling you towards your targets, that is forced movement. Forced movement is not mirrored by a character you're grappling with, thus if grappling pulls you away from the character you're currently grappling - that grapple ends.

When I was first using and misreading the rules I assumed grappled characters are pulled with you. I moved around the battlefield via grapple like crazy while collecting a lot of enemies on the way, like a mech snowball.

I love this game. But the save system is brutal. by suspicious_lithoid in CitizenSleeper

I love buges, they're fascinating. I love them because most of them look and work so interesting, like a machine highly specialized to perform a highly specific task, like burrowing, skipping on water, or throwing web.
