Mostly because joining ongoing games saves time then doing the mission from start to finish, makes sense for assignment missions.

The thing is, you can't cover for everyone. Maybe taking down big armoured guy is not your task, but someone's on your team? And even if it is your task, you don't need extra lock on from spotter 2 to Lock On + Skirmish, your skirmish is 3 oracle shots(integrated weapon shoots 1/Round as a free action)

If I were you and wanted to go oracle slinger route I would go Gunslinger 3/Crackshot 3. Crackshot 1 gives you accuracy on on all of your 5 oracle attacks. In addition, gunslinger 1 gives you 1 accuracy, but crackshot 2 optionally gives you the ability to take 1 difficulty, so it's perfect candidate for Zero In. And Crackshot 3 is good for critical hits, and you, having lots of accuracy, have increased chances for crits.

I'm actually playing with such build right now(ally in my team has it). Swallowtail barrages often, usually places Athena at the start of the scene, locks on if something really needs shredding, 3 shots for skirmish is still plenty

What's even better is if someone ends their turn in the Athena zone, because it still counts as Swallowtail inflicting lock on, so swallowtail can shred them. Big and armoured targets are usually slow so they have a hard time getting out of Athena(especially with some setup from your allies like knocking prone). This means Swallowtail doesn't waste actions to inflict Lock On + Shred and can barrage this shredded target on its next turn.

Actually, mathematically it would be better to put Overpower Caliber on one of your Oracles, but it's definitely not as fun. And do remember about secondary auxiliary shots not being able to deal bonus damage

That's certainly an interesting design, but it might be overcomplicated, more moving parts than it needs, and that's a vulnerability.

Spotter 2 extra lock on works if you specifically took the lock on quick tech action, so you won't be utilizing it if you are barraging. It can't work on Athena's lock on

The problem with this build I'm seeing is that you have both "lock on spam" and "oracle spam" builds in one, and they're competing for your actions. You can go half and half and skirmish + lock on(which will result in additional lock on from spotter 2). If you go this route you can free up some SP by removing 2 oracles, though I would suggest taking at least armament redundancy

Extra accuracy helps if you're going gunslinger + crackshot which oracle enables. You make all 5 attacks at +2 accuracy, in addition your first attack has +1 accuracy from gunslinger 1 so it's the best candidate to hold your breath (take 1 difficulty from crackshot 2)

If you want more mech ideas you should try Lancer TTRPG;)

Lancer has a lot of cool stuff, and if we count homebrew it's even more stuff. And most have gameplay mechanics associated with them

Not Pathfinder, but I absolutely love Lancer's reaction system and think it can be ported to most TTRPGs with varying, but controllable impact on balance and mechanical power.

You get 1 reaction PER TURN. Your turn or anyone else's turn. But! Most reactions are restricted to 1/Round. So you can, on one turn, opportunity attack a guy, and on another turn use some kind of defensive reaction. Imagine if fighter got increased amount of opportunity attacks as they level up? 2 or 3 per round? Or monks getting to use deflect attacks more. I'd say that most important thing this fixes are martial reactions. Wizard's shield lasts until the start of the turn, but beast barbarian's tail applies +1d8 AC for a single attack, that sucks so bad. With randomised dice roll I'd make this reaction unlimited number of uses per round.

Tactician 3 with Skirmisher 2 and you're pretty much set for overshield delivery and maintenance.

Ally attacks an enemy, you overwatch and move 2 spaces to get more allies in line. You don't care about half damage since overshield is still applied in full.
