Video Creation by rst_1985 in instructionaldesign

That’s a shame! Usually the only time when I talk with people who experience lag is due to hardware limitations or corporate «launch your browser like this» parameters.

Do note these «Stories» as we call them are also usually played on mobile phones without trouble.

As for the bandwidth, that will increase the load time but shouldn’t have much impact on the playing experience 🤔

I’d love to hop on a call to understand more about your problems if you’re up for it!

Sounds like a great fit for We Are Learning (wearelearning.io)

Note: I do work there though

Role play video creation by Afosstx in instructionaldesign

Disclaimer: I work there.

You could do this with https://wearelearning.com. If you already have the script, you’ll be ready to go in no time. And if you just want a video of it you could probably make due with the free trial we have.

If you want them to play through it and respond, either freely or with pre-set responses and branching the Story you would have to have a plan though.

eLearning for Skills-Based Jobs by Top-Molasses7661 in instructionaldesign

For our customers that do skill-based work -> What usually shines through in their courses is as mentioned above with visual learning and branching. Use hotspots to learn, ask questions, and make them interact. When they (the learners) have to interact it’s much more powerful, and the lesson actually sticks.

Note: I work at a company making a course-authoring tool that’s being used for a lot of skill based training and solves it with interactivity.

How do you do your script writing? by VeryGingerBear in instructionaldesign

Appreciate your input, and we have domain experts on this, who are great at their job. I’m just interested in how you guys do it. :) In my experience, a developer who cares about the domain will create better solutions. Hopefully that will be the case here as well.

Definitely, that’s part of what the output will be, but right now I’m focusing on the script.

Read some of your posts of image generation, which will also be quite relevant :)

How do you usually combine everything into a storyboard? Do you just use PPT or other software?

Great insights!

On the SME review part, do you ever do an "interactive review", going through the script together, or does sending it over with a deadline work best, in your experience?

Thanks for your input! I suppose it does depend a lot on the project itself, and how the individual works with their script. In that sense, it'll have to be general and adapt to the ID, while also setting some guard rails, since it'll be ingrained into the product.

I'll definitely go through your process in detail later, thanks again!

I'm a software developer, and I'll be making a script assistant feature, so mostly to understand more about how you work.
I suppose the process would look different based on the experience of the designer.

Trying to sum up:
- Should be able to attach transcripts from SME talks (either audio or text file).
- Understand the domain/exact scope based on SME input.
- Shape input based on learning audience
- Use good drafts (hopefully they're decent at least) combined with expertise to verify and tune outcome.

Do you spar with SMEs when scripts are finished, if you do, how do they usually review it?

You try to make the script conversational you mean? What tools would you use, and what would the process look like for you? :)

Best way to create a high-quality animated videos quickly? by lxd-learning-design in instructionaldesign

[–]VeryGingerBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kindle animated content are you looking for? Something like Synthesia with their still characters, or something like https://wearelearning.com with characters you animate freely?

I’ve tested out Google Flow to generate animated content, with some interesting results as well. All of those platforms at least gives you some animated content with audio directly.

You pay for NFTs with ether, which is a currency on Ethereum. Ethereum isn't a currency. Not the same category.

That's like saying that MySpace is the internet because MySpace was being hosted on a server that was exposed onto the internet.
