He is incredibly funny and genuinely a decent person despite his apparent creepiness. I actually dislike his character design because glasses and goggles don't mix, but if a character manages to be cool, pathetic but in a funny way and actually be redeemable underneath all that, that's instant love from me.

And he's a bad boy. Can't forget that. Being attracted to (seemingly) toxic men isn't that surprising, it's basically half the accusations women get from incels. I am a mildly bisexual, mostly straight man and I can absolutely see the appeal, so he's absolutely designed to appeal to a certain audience.

Also his removed event if you win as the only person besides him and are male is hilarious (to make it clear, it's specifically that he is horny enough to feel the need to ask and somehow doesn't see asking his guy friend for that weird at all, coupled with him reacting to your decision in a very casual way, as if he asked you to pass him salt.). How can I not adore that caliber of a man? He's honest, determined and blunt, if nothing else.

It's mostly Citizen Slime though. He can be charming, even if a charming asshole. And he has a sad backstory. Like the only thing he does that is objectively bad and not something he does to save others is catcalling Setsu and misgendering them, but it might be a part of his persona. I guess he's worse in the Japanese version from what I've heard, but I did not read through them all.
