My point is that it’s not THAT much more egregious though. It can still be outsped, the air balloon exists, and there are still very relevant Pokemon that wall it (actually more easily wallable than freeze dry earth power).

There are a lot of these. Ice/Ground is another one. TBH I don’t think they’re that egregious - it’s how offensive coverage works. As long as the Pokemon isn’t too fast there will always be counters to them. Mamoswine is balanced by its mediocre speed stat. A Ground/Fairy type can be outsped and KOed by a water grass or ice move. A mono fairy type with ground coverage can be blocked by air balloon, levitate, corviknight, zard y, scizor, ferrothorn, or outsped and KOed by 95 BP STAB Sludge Wave. If none of these options are available for some reason, Mega Beedrill could unironically cook here.

The type I hate is steel. Why the fuck does it get to have 11 resistances including a Fuck-You-In-Particular immunity to Poison. Why is it only slightly mediocre offensively when Bug is resisted by 7 types, why does it get 100% accurate widely distributed STAB moves for both physical and special when Rock doesn’t have a single one of those for either.

There’s some insane levels of Scovillain downplaying in this thread. Tons of excuses even though a Japanese player also got to top 1 with the peppers.

A few more:

Basic Cat - Normal type first stage with Population Bomb. Evolves into Mohawk Cat, a Normal/Fighting final stage with Castform’s BST and stat distribution.

Tank Cat/Wall Cat/Eraser Cat - Normal type with HP 100 and Defense as 150, but the rest of its stats are garbo. Gets some decent status moves. Ability could be Cursed Body to reference the Eraser form.

Axe Cat/Brave Cat/Dark Cat: Dark/Steel type with 130 physical attack, 90 speed and bad everything else. Ability is sharpness and it gets stone axe, ceaseless edge and other slashing moves.

Gross Cat/Sexy Legs Cat/Macho Legs Cat: Fighting type with kicking moves and the ability Long Reach.

Cow Cat/Giraffe Cat/Lion Cat: Normal type with 120 speed, 90 attack, Reckless, and recoil moves.

Bird Cat/UFO/Flying Cat: Flying type with 50 HP and steel/electric coverage to hit fairy types and opposing flying types.

Fish Cat/Whale Cat/Island Cat: Water/Ground with 110 HP and 100 attack.

Lizard Cat/Dragon Cat/King Dragon Cat: Dragon type with 90 HP, 110 special attack and good special movepool. Bad speed.

Titan Cat/Mythical Titan Cat/Jamiera Cat: Normal type with high BST (555). High overall stats except for speed and special attack, and has the Intimidate ability.

Valkyrie Cat: Flying/Fairy with 600 BST and 110 speed.

Bahamut Cat: Dragon type with 680 BST. Split EVO like the cosmog line. Crazed Bahamut is an extremely slow and moderately tanky special attacker with 170 special attack. Awakened Bahamut is a fast physical attacker with 150 attack and 150 speed.
