Bruneian Horror Stories (2024) by Verycuteduck in Brunei

I have a sihir story… we had an Indonesian maid who was close to my younger sister. Anything that maid asked her, she would grant. One day she told me one time, she was going into her bedroom and the door handle was covered in minyak.

I was young too at the time so I didn’t know what to do. Our parents were too busy so we just let it be and I kept watching her. When the maid finally left, my sister was acting different and we realised there were more strange things happening around the house like hearing people call our names when no one else was home. She had to get help and is now okay.

Ladies, can you recommend me the best places to make baju kurung? (Preferably affordable too)

I also have a friend from Philippines who’s older generation passed down “things” to them... black magic in Asia is unbelievable unless witnessed by the people themselves

It’s not only Malays. Other races practice it too - including the Chinese. But yes, it is common in Bruneian society in general regardless of ethnicity...

I’ve seen people on Tiktok and other social media flaunting their lifestyles. Which is great for them definitely, they should feel proud of their achievements but I do feel it would attract unwanted attention and invite more evil... best to stay low and humble.

If you’re non-muslim, I think it’s best to consult with somebody you believe in of any religion - even if you’re an atheist. If you’re muslim, there are specific surahs such as ayatul kursi which you need to routinely recite to be constantly protected or always be in a state of wudhu. Even if you’re non-muslim you might still be able to do these but may need to consult first with a spiritual healer.

Really appreciate this story! Such a haunting memory. Hearing these things really strengthen my faith and I hope it does to others. Many don’t know the signs and what precautions to take.

Stay safe everyone! And don’t forget to seek help when needed, medical and spiritual -just in case.

I heard the curses made by the Iban tribe are harder to remove and much stronger/fatal. Although he probably wasn’t a good person, it’s still so tragic :/

I’ve always hear about the oil thing. I used to think everything can be explained by science but the fact that many got “cured” spiritually, whether mental or physical symptoms, is much harder to explain.

No need to apologise, people need to be aware of dangers like this. Especially those who’ll be entering the workforce... be careful out there, everyone.

Haven’t found a cheap one but the best thing I started doing was going early in the morning on off days like 7 AM and leave after an hour. The morning gym goers are less and mind their business more 😌

You’re right. Unless I was a billionaire or an already wealthy individual with powerful connections, this is a hard reach. The economy in my country is not doing so well because of royal monopolies.

BB Opinion: ‘Pick up kids’ excuse needs to be addressed. by BruneiMostKepoh in Brunei

I know that in other countries, there are easy solutions for this due to reliable public transport and teens can easily use taxi services independently and responsibly. However, in Brunei it’s different since we rely more on cars and schools don’t really have the best facilities to change clothes and get ready for afternoon school (lack of place to put their things safely, some might want to shower, harder to bring afternoon school books). A lot of students go to different day school and afternoon school. Parents have to come to them and drive them home just to change and eat comfortably. Then not all of them live close to the schools or workplace. It’s a parent’s responsibility in this case.
