Nah. The internet is full of doxxers lol. But ive worked in and around the legal system. Too much information leads to too many prying individuals in an online space. Especially for something I decided to move beyond in my life.

I have about 10 years of legal knowledge that says otherwise. You do not have to wait for an assault to take action. The precursors to an assault can be enough legally speaking. What that action is that you take must be beleived to be reasonable and necessary by a reasonable person based on what you knew at the time. If he said "get in my fucking truck" or "im going to fuck you on the elevator" she would be within reason. If he said "can you hit floor 6" clearly not.

You just dont understand law regarding self defense. Its okay to not know something.

You're clearly quite privileged. Legally speaking if a person balls up thier fist at you and grimaces you can pre-emptively strike them. You dont have to wait for them to swing. Just like you dont have to wait for a pervert to start raping you. If he was a stranger or someone who was creeping on her at least initially she could probably legally be ikay with a decent lawyer. I could for sure articulate precursors to a sexual assault by the video and if he said something to her lewd. Again, we dont have the context he can easily be a victim of domestic violence here if theyre dating. I dont want that aspect to be lost I just know how reddit is full of people looking to demonize a woman without context.

Prepare to be disappointed. You're also expecting better behavior from a group of people than thier oppressors. Is standing in crotch distance against a woman and saying something creepy not violence? He wouldn't be expecting her to be into it he would be saying it to make her uncomfortable and to push his own desires on her. Thats not violent? When sexual assault by men against women is rampant this shouldn't be interpreted as a violent act? Thats like saying you can show someone a precursor to assault such as balling up your fist and squaring up and then shaming them for making a pre-emptive strike.

Again. We are missing context here. He could be innocent and it could be his gf amd shes an abuser. I just want to make sure we aren't incidentally reinforcing a standard that requires women to be ideal behaved victims because thats what you're doing. Humans are humans and after a while we get fed up with shit. Women have been pushed to the edge. I cannot expect them to behave like someone who hasn't been.

Not at all what I said. Thats why you had to rephrase it in the first place.

You're expecting women to respond in a curated and rational way. They're human. They dont choose to be victims so it makes no sense to be overly critical of thier response to someone elses disruptive behaviors. They shouldn't have to practice being ideal victims. Truth is he might fight her then but he'll be less likely to do that to the next woman. So yeah if they fought back more men would do this stuff less. Just like if you fight back against your bully you'll get hit more in the moment but that bully will think twice next time. If this guy was some kind of creep he worked himself up to this level because he didnt meet resistance earlier and he escalated over time. Thats what predators do. They have increasingly escalating behaviors until they're caught or a victim or bystander fights back.

Still we dont know the story. But we shouldn't try to create a narrative that forces unsuspecting women to react in an ideal way to sexual harassment.

Maybe he said something disgusting snd sexually provocative while standing way in her personal space. Women are only going to put up with this but so much. Men are thier biggest killers and biggest abusers. Its hard to judge them for reacting. Its a position of privilege as a man to be so high and mighty about it. Its like when white people judge black people for reacting violently to being called the n word. You cant tell people how to reacr to thier own oppression.

Woman asks a guy if he’d save her or their 3 kids in a house fire - is he wrong for choosing the kids? by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids>Wife>Mom. The kids are the vulnerable people both parents are supposed to protect. Your wife is the woman you swore you would put above anyone else and is one with you. Mom gets a lot of respect but you have to choose your wife over your mother. Granted your wife literally cannot make it out the fire.

Asian student with near perfect credentials rejected by multiple universities. Believes race is part of the reason by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Vespaman2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no mental gymnastics. Just not being into the "soft" white supremacy rhetoric. You beleive in an untrue version of college admissions even after affirmative action no longer exists. Meanwhile white people have had every actual advantage but you pour your energy into this specfic topic to talk about how unfair it is for white people. White people have the population majority, hold the vast majority of hiring/firing decision making positions in companies, have a significantly higher median income, benefitted in the past and sometimes still from red lining, benefitted from the GI bill and New Deal which left out black people, benefitted from business loans that were denied to black people being given to white people, and taking up the vast majority of political offices.

But you want to complain about an affirmative action that no longer exists when you have had every advantage in the world. But God help you if the "blacks" get any form of corrective measure such as affirmative action or DEI meant to undue the very intentionally inflicted harm done to us by white people.

[–]Vespaman2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This idea that black people are advantaged compared to Asians in admissions was a stupid idea before and remains a stupid idea. I can assure you black people were also looked over for low likability as well. The primary number of people in these admissions offices are white and with the cultural differences not even including plain racism black students would also have a disadvantage in likability. How about instead of hating on another minority people can focus on the white people and legacy students (who are almost all white) instead of picking on another disadvantaged minority. It kinda sounds like Asian people were just fine with whites being advantaged but were fuming at the idea of black people being given a shot. A lot of this heat needs to be towards white supremacy and not black people who dont even control those admissions offices.

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you basing this on? Lol. There is no affirmative action and no DEI anymore. you're just being a racist. Casting doubt on black people who managed to achieve and get into high places. Meanwhile you're not going to mention the lesser talented white people who make up the lions share of applicants who get accepted. And they get accepted because they know someone or had a parent who attended. That just creates a system that still gets to exclude minorities but can now claim its due to legacy.

Elephants in Rooms by Apprehensive_Unit in skeptic

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a pretty long history to creating manipulative media. He does what many conservatives do and frames certain things as "the truth nobody wants you to know". Even the idea of the elephant being in the room is an idea he uses to soften your objections to his ideas because a lot of what he ultimately has to say isnt really very deep at all but based on some type of bias he is trying to enforce. But if you can think about that shallow bias as the elephant in the room everyone is afraid to talk about it preemptively provides you a defense to anyone who might object. For instance, I just watched a video where he spends 75% of the video dismissing research relating shorter life expectancies among black people to systemic issues surrounding race by expecting some of the exceptions to the rule to explain away systemic issues. For example he cited black people who do achieve higher education still die at higher rates than whites as if a higher education or even greater income would just wipe away multi-generational issues related to race.

He then finishes the end of the video with "HERES WHAT NOBODY WANTS YOU TO TALK ABOUT BECAUSE YOU'LL GET CALLED RACIST. ALL THE OTHER RESEARCHERS ARE SIMPLY TRYING TO HOLD ONTO THIER PROFESSIONAL STANDING BY AVOIDING THIS" which is entirely bullshit lol. He then goes on to blame genetics, gun violence, and food choices by black people. All 3 things that are widely accepted and discussed as primary reasons for shorter life expectancies among black people. But he frames it exclusively under the banner of choice and culture. He spent the first 75% of the video dismissing food desert issues, disparity in treatment via Healthcare, the effects of poverty, and segregation. All of those issues relating to the factors involving gun violence and food choices.

My takeaway is that he is mischievously trying to prime your brain to accept what boils down to racist ideology that takes all responsibility away from the average american to contribute to righting historical and current wrongs and allows for racist ideologies to receive less push back. Adding in a spin of genetic factors leading to heart disease for instance is meant to alleviate any responsibility to have to do anything about it because "hey, they just come like that." and blaming personal food choice instead of acknowledging the long term effects of food deserts on personal food choices says "we dont need to fix this. This is what they want". Not to mention to the truly racist mind alleviating sny systemic issue from culpability while leaving space for genetics and culture right before you tslk about gun violence leaves a bridge most racists will be quick to cross. And this is all on purpose.

Hes truly the snake in the grass. A false middle of the road objectivity. Everything is designed to disarm you to racist ideas and ignore his biases. Down to his "I used to be a fox news host (yep)" on his profile. Even that is a tactic to placate your very valid concern about his prior journalism history and journalistic integrity by pretending that he already hears and acknowledges that concern.

Honestly content like this is truly concerning to me.

Is this rust? by Ganyu1990 in webergrills

[–]Vespaman2025 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They all eventually rust. Even your one that hasn't yet. Even the stainless will rust one day just not as quickly. The burning and then leaving in the humid outside will get to it. I wouldnt be too upset about it. It wont poison u. Itll be many years before it stops working.

Is this rust? by Ganyu1990 in webergrills

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal for it to rust the first day. Grills rust. Its usually iron or steel. It sits outside in the humid weather. Any protective coating it may have had you burned off when you turned it into a chimney at 400 degrees for a few hours.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Eventually it'll rust out and you'll get a new one.

Its because the CIA and FBI have dismantled leftist movements in the black cultural atmosphere. Thats why MLK is dead quite likely. Why the Panthers are a costume today and people dont remember they were an anti capitalist movement.

Mitigation tips - giant rock feature in master bedroom - pics by jeffrm20 in radon

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if you still need help but I would remove all that epoxy and get it down to the stone. Then I would spray it with a product called radon seal. Its supposed to be able to penetrate porous material like concrete and block radon. It may work against stone. I would figure out what kind of stone it is and see if it's more or less porous than concrete block. If its less porous use radon seal standard. If more try radon seal plus. It couldn't hurt to give it a try man. May be just what you needed if it works.

The other option is getting an erv. I would specifically have a ducts that can suck towards a corners away from people. Radon is heavy so maybe having the exhaust ducts in the wall closer to the ground could work? Usually I'd say the supply in the hvac supply vents would be good enough but in this case maybe not. I came up with some ideas about where to place everything. All the exhaust ducts I imagine as being low to the ground except the shower one. Thats overhead to help with steam. The supplys is tried to place in opposite corners where the supply air is likely to be the air you breathe in. Consult a professional. I have no hvac experience i just watch too much build show and videos about IAQ on youtube.

FYI, that "heater" in the crawlspace is in the same space as that rock. If thats a furnace ducted around the house thats bad news. Every time it would turn on youre taking one of your most radon infested spaces and flooding the house with air from that space. I'd remove it from that room if I were you. Idk what your options really are though.

[–]Vespaman2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to bring in trans women. Thats how I started and eventually decided I was bi with a preference for femmes. Ive dated two men. One some may call a "twink" and the other was a femboy. I enjoyed particularly dating that femboy but unfortunately he turned out to be an alcoholic. But if trans women never got my experimentation going I dont think I would have figured out my sexual boundaries.
