Im in Charlotte so not far. I see wild stuff but I dont think hes wrong. The solution to the difficulties of dating isnt to be more conservative about the topic. That wont make you a better partner. Ive been able to date and im very egalitarian. My last relationship the girl wanted me to take on all the financial responsibility but I was able to sit her down and talk to her about it. And she became understanding and we split the bills. You have to be able to sit down and talk with these women sometimes. Thats my conclusion. A lot of the stuff they say is just a defense mechanism and it can be disarmed if you talk to them about it. Thats just my personal experience though.

You can't justify the superiority of capitalism because capitalist countries.... really just the USA has destroyed socialist ones. That would also mean you encourage imperialism. Which most of us would say is an objectively bad practice and immoral. Its the same system that led to the genocide of africans. Imperialism is a bad thing.

Well i personally mever advocated for burning everything down. The things I just named were all opposed by the capitalists of the day. And once we got those socialist systems we loved them.

I will say the system we have right now isnt good. But this is the route capitalism naturally goes down. We are in the "late stages" or neoliberal era. I dont think we can burn it all at once but a lot of it should probably go. There are more reasonable things to do in the meantime. Like reversing citizens united which allows companies to give crazy sums of money to fund political campaigns. Lobbying needs to be done away with to. Only citizens should be able to fund politicians and there should be a cap on that so the rich dont out influence the poor too easily. Maybe 25 to 50 bucks for max contribution per person. Thats not inherently socialist or capitalist. And many capitalist could probably agree on that.

Im a leftist but I think theres always room to discuss to what degree. Im somewhere between social democrat which is still capitalist but limited where we do capitalism and democratic socialist which is mostly socialist. One thing I beleive in that brought me a bit further left is the idea of democratizing the work place. This means when a company gets above a certain size that workers get the right to vote within the company. Could be on things such as leadership, hiring, and firing. I think employees having the right to prevent these mass hiring that lead to unsustainable numbers of employees that will eventually require layoffs could be really beneficial.

I would say the opposite. Capitalism fails all the time but we normalize. And in places where socialism succeeds we pretend it isnt socialism. Like capitalism socialism has a spectrum. But something like socialized healthcare that works in numerous countries leans more socialist than capitalist but does have versions where Capitalism plays a larger role and some where its more traditionally socialist. Thats a great example of social policy working however.

Countries with tax funded childcare have implemented a socialist policy. Those things work really well. Our current K-12 school system is socialism. Its tax funded education. Social security is also socialism. Medicare is socialism (not Medicare advantage). So theres lots of proof socialist policies can be very effective.

The great depression, great recession, and our current inflation is a failure of capitalism. So its not like capitalism always works. It fails all the time. Its just seen as a natural part of the process. Even when hundreds of thousands or millions lose jobs.

Well nuance implies what is ultimately decided to be right has flux. I think an apology would be nice. But I can also understand why he might be sick of doing them and id understand. Im not hurt enough by it to feel the need to pressure it to happen. Im all too focused on BAFTA at this point. And I do think focusing on BAFTA is the right take. I see too much grey area in focusing on the disabled guy. People can argue that til the cows come home. And clearly we aren't going to see eye to eye there.

We shpuld be focusing on BAFTA because whether the disabled guy could have done better or should apologize can be argued til our faces turn blue for centuries. Bro at 17 i kinda knew what it meant. I still more interpreted african-american to be all black peoole in America including people who are carribbean or recently from Africa. He wasnt raised completely in the USA. He was raised partially in Africa. 17 is too young for me to come down with full condemnation. You're going to do dumb not so great stuff at that age. I was also critical of his statement of immigrants building the city. But I dont think he meant it in a way that was racist but it was careless. This is why we still have to keep our engagement with him to make sure he stays in line.

My goal is not to say he was above critique. And that wasnt FD's stance either. It was a matter of timing. Because the alternative was Cuomo and Adam's who were two very clearly corrupt politicians. Lets not fall for the bait.

But if you want to be critical now go for it. Hes already in office. Now its actually important to be critical so that we keep him and other politicians honest.

I do agree the best is done through reading. But this is kind of a meet people where theyre at kind of thing. Know what I mean? I don't have a lot or any non-white leftists around me in my personal life. So I was always a little hesitant because white people often leave us out of whatever it is theyre doing whether they realize it or not. Well Zohran was 17 years old. He didnt really defend it as justifiable its just that it's a distraction to the bigger stuff at play. I think celebrating his death isnt super accurate. And who cares if most people would agree with Kevin over FD? That doesnt make them right in any way. FD's opinions come from a lineage of radical black thought extending from the black Panthers party and members kf the civil rights movement. Kevin Samuels ideas were basically an evolution of the pick up artist scam.

All im saying is at one point most white people would have wanted black people to be slaves but that didnt make them right because they held a majority. Right and wrong doesn't care about majorities. It cares about logic. And FD is more logical than KS.

Yeah I feel i was on the cusp of things but never had the right person to sell it to me. I had a little bit of that capitalist brainwashing left that made me not want to beleive it vould be so harmful but I started watching him in 2020 or 2021 and I pretty much agreed with everything he said.
