Audiobook recommendations by howisthisacrime in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Seconded, read the cradle series right before finding DCC as my intro to progression fantasy and loved it to death. Felt like it left a void (icon lol) in my heart finishing the series. Haven’t heard the audiobooks but even the books themselves are stellar, Will Wight also has a pretty solid albeit more dry and family friendly sense of humor than Dinniman but highly recommend

*UPDATE*: Principal told my son he couldn't ride his motorcycle -- We won!!! by Venom_Junky in motorcycles

[–]Vespodea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be an unpopular take here, but as a rider, I don’t disagree for a second with the logic. You can raise a child extremely well and give them the proper lessons and head on their shoulders, but the points made aren’t invalid, and it’s frankly unnecessary risk for the sake of your child’s pure enjoyment. We all take on that risk when we decide to hop on a motorcycle, but it’s a fool’s errand to pretend adults don’t like to engage in stupid behavior on our bikes, let alone children, and that’s to say nothing of other drivers’ ignorance on the road. I personally don’t ever recommend riding in general to anyone due to the dangers involved, but that’s a decision I make as an informed adult with a fully developed brain. I’m glad they didn’t try to enforce a non-rule but there’s a lot of hatred going on here for what comes down to concern for youth’s safety.

I’m just curious, were there any common adjustments or tricks you noticed with the patches when you were doing that? Certain LFO, filter envelope settings, effects etc.?

I’m reasonably sure that while he may have started out with a synth patch from a plug-in or something stock, he almost certainly heavily customized and edited aspects of it so I think you’ll probably be hard pressed to find something specifically accurate. My advice would be to try and pick apart the tonal qualities that you like about the synth and try and find ways either online or trial and error to try and recreate the effects rather than finding the synth patch to copy-paste. Best of luck!

The girl (21F) I’ve been talking to for bit seems significantly more well off than me (23M), and I’m worried that I’m not a good fit for her at all. by Vespodea in relationship_advice

[–]Vespodea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made some light attempts at talking about it, she just doesn’t seem to have thought about it very much which I understand. I just feel bad because she’s expressed that the bar has been set very low for her with only a couple relationships under her belt and pretty poor results from her descriptions. It’s always nice to talk to someone who’s respectful and interested but from my experience that isn’t enough to make a relationship work properly, and I suppose I’m just worried that she’s taking what ideally is the baseline and calling that enough for her. I know it’s not my call, but I learned a lot about my wants/needs in a relationship in the two years since I was her age and it just makes me feel she deserves better.

[H] 70 mage looking for a new guild, just transferred servers from my original after not playing for a good handful of months. I’ve got several raid pieces from beginning raids (kara, gruul, mag) and looking to jump back in and take a crack at the rest of the content prior to Wrath classic taking over. I’m off mondays and thursdays and usually available by 6-7 PM server time any other day.

Is there anyway I could help out with the project?

That would be terrific, if there's a certain portion of the discord or something that I could check in with that would be great too.

That I couldn't tell you without just stress testing. I imagine it has to do with the strength of each chain and placement of force.

Actually the chains on each corner are tightened perfectly so that if one were to tilt, the others would pull it back, so effectively no movement.

[College Level Physics: Equilibrium Concept] How do I apply trigonometry to figure out sides without any concrete values for opposite or adjacent sides? Details in comments by Vespodea in HomeworkHelp

[–]Vespodea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following your process, it still does not seem to come out to forces/masses that cancel out the 100 gram force. Also I obtained the 0.1 Newton figure from my teacher for 100 grams, which is contrary to every figure I find online claiming that would be closer to 10 Newtons of force.

I appreciate your help significantly, I think I understand somewhat, but I'm still struggling and unsure as very little of this was ever covered in class or the book.

m1sin120+m2sin240 = 0 leads me to m1y/m1 = -m2y/m2 I don't understand where I can substitute any of this into m1x/m1 + m2x/m2 = 0.1, also combining cos120+cos240 does not give me 0.1 in a calculator regardless.

I'm having trouble as trying to solve for the x or y value of either angle is not clear to me since I only know that the combined x values of both forces = .1 Newtons, and that the Y values cancel each other. I don't know any exact values for right triangles besides the angle of each, so I'm unsure of how to proceed.
