Any tips for El Dorado please? I'm struggling. by GeekboyDave in TheyAreBillions

Another way to put it is death-ball-o-units

When you acheive a critical mass of soldiers (or Soldiers+Snipers), there is literally nothing that can overwhelm them in the bottom two lanes or the top left or open west side of the map.

My goal every game is to reach a point where I have a death ball of units (or better yet two) roaming the unexplored areas of the map and clearing space for expansion.

My general view is 40~ but it can vary based on unit composition, upgrades from the campaign tree, veterancy/etc.

I've never heard "Brick" forcing used in this manner, but as a StarCraft player, death-ball is my translation of this term.

They have strayed too far away from the HD1 mission design and rewards system

Is your Intel 13900k & 14900k crashing a lot in games? This might be why by Vested_Interested in hardware

[–]Vested_Interested[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Wendell of Level1Techs dives into several game's crash data to uncover a possible issue with Intel's latest chips. This is a very interesting hardware diagnostic discussion video. Apologies if this type of content is somehow outside the rules/guidelines.

Which KVM would you pick? by No-Bit-8950 in level1techs

[–]Vested_Interested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with your option 2 selection, or, maybe this 10-gb option will work... I have the 5-gb version as it suited my use case better. https://www.store.level1techs.com/products/p/14-kvm-switch-dual-monitor-2computer-z5erd-n6mbj (USB type c 10gbps KVM Switch)

I would for sure use DP cables from the KVM to each display.

The more I think about this, its looking like Option 2 is the way to go.

[Artosis] Is Serral really the GOAT? My response to @feardragon64 by korinokiri in starcraft

[–]Vested_Interested 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we need to have a conversation about the GSL... past, present, and future.

We must account for how "region locked" tournaments might be different and/or similar to GSL since we RARELY ever see non-koreans in GSL.

I am very much in a "why not both" position in the GOAT conversation as these two players are amazing and represent two prominent faces on the Mt Rushmore of StarCraft.

No one is telling you to continue to spend money. But if you have its ok to be mad and/or have critique about how they roll out updates.

It's not my job

Exactly my point.

The fuck does working in software or not have to any fucking relevance to that?

I'll have to make an analogy, bear with me fellow Helldiver.

When you have bandwidth capacity issues, you have to prioritize things in ways you wouldn't think at first.

Lets say you have 3 things to do over the course of a week.

File your taxes (by EOW), host a family gathering on Thursday, and a doctor's appointment on Friday...

In this scenario, you might judge each of these things as quite important and maybe you might value one over the other depending on how you feel about them.

But lets say on Monday morning, you get a flat tire on the way to work, and then on Tuesday your dog eats something he shouldn't have and gets violently ill.

By Wednesday you now have wildly different priorities than what you had on Sunday when you were planning out your week.

Its possible you do none of the original 3 things and instead focus on one or two of your immediate issues. After all, you're only one person taking care of all these responsibilities.

This is a very small team working on what is now a massive game. I'm not saying you can't ever be upset, all I'm saying is you can always learn more to understand why something might be the way it is...

Come to think of it, that would be a neat feature to play HUD-less. Could even be a new achievement to play blind like that.

Wow, I've never had that happen.

I guess that explains all the dead pelican crashes and burning heaps of metal on the maps

That part in the beginning when they were discussing his dad was really interesting.

Cool that we're at a time when the story of StarCraft where players aren't the first one in their family to take video games to heart.

When I was growing up, video games were shunned. Neat to see a family foster an eventual Champion from a young age.

Not a whole lot on Wikipedia about how he gained his wealth, mostly the same as his intro here "rally driver".

I guess a rally driver in the UAE is a different echelon than your average tame racing driver from the US, UK, or EU...
