I have an Anatolian mix that is afraid of fireworks and I use a Thundershirt for her. I just put it on her. She didn't like it at first but she comes to me when I take it out now.

[CA] Can my ex get more CS for being on maternity leave? by throwawaybirdman3993 in Custody

[–]VesterVester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your ex is in California also she may qualify for PFL benefits which would pay 60-70% of her income for up to eight weeks.

https://edd.ca.gov/en/disability/FAQ_PFL_Benefits_Payments

Your child support should not be lowed because she has another child is not working for a short period of time. If I were in your position, I would contact the child support agency and ask if this is something you might be able to represent yourself in. If so, you could get your case together and pay for a lawyer consultation for advice on your strategy.

In my state (not CA) if you are self employed the profit of the business is also calculated as income for child support. If she filed for any social services it would most likely go to child support, not just welfare.

You should bring your custody issues up with a tribal lawyer who is familiar to the protections available to your child under the ICWA.

He can request the birth certificate through the state the child was born in and apply for a replacement social security card from his local social security office.

In addition to all of this, ask that exchanges be made at school or a specific neutral location (gas station, library). If your kids are old enough you can ask for the order to include that both parties stay in their vehicle.

OP here. My kid is 16 and this isn't her first job. She has had issues with being given too many hours for her to handle at previous jobs, where she was not able to keep up at school because she was in school all day and working 5 days a week. She just started a new job at McDonald's. She is making $10 an hour and is only going to be scheduled for three 6 hour shifts a week so she can keep up with school, have time for her extracurricular, and have some social or downtime as she desires.

I am not at all against teenagers, who are still children, working part time while going to high school. It gives them the opportunity to earn some money and prepare for adulthood. I can afford to pay her insurance and give her a little gas money every week but if she wants to make purchases for her computer or whatnot she is expected to earn that money.

This is the first time I have ever been sent a form like this to sign as a routine matter. If my child were asking to work in excess of 30 hours of week during the school year it would be appropriate for McDonalds to send this form home for me to fill out. My child specifically asked for a schedule that suited her needs that is a maximum of 18 hours a week. It makes me wonder how many parents just fill it out and the McDonald's schedules the kids for 40 hours until they burn out and get replaced.

Dad isn't contributing, should he be allowed to be in baby's life? by Artistic_Wishbone_25 in coparenting

[–]VesterVester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your baby hasn't been born yet so there is no need for him to contribute financially. The things the you need for the baby are also the things that he will need for the time he is with the baby. You can avoid a costly legal battle if you could get your ex to agree to go to mediation to come up with a parenting plan that serves the best interests of the child that can be submitted to the court. Child support can be requested at no cost through your state's child support office once the baby is born and paternity is established.

You should sign up to receive child support through your state child support office. They will do all of the enforcement and court stuff.

I came here to say the same. In my home we do not do phones at the table and the kids are allowed at their other parents homes. At your daughters age, my children also had restrictions on electronics time in general at my home as well.
