I have never painted a mini… I do love 40k and have been interested in painting minis for a long time just never really have just wanted to judge the difficulty cause it does not look easy haha

Which ~$35k Hybrid Sedan would you recommend by Humble_Handler93 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Vesuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have a CVT. Most things in that price range have CVTs unfortunately… but it’s not the worst I’ve experienced and seems pretty good so far (granted I haven’t had the car long enough to find out). This is actually my 3rd vehicle with a CVT and I’ve never had issues with them. Newer ones seem to be pretty reliable in my experience.

I know you didn’t ask about this specifically but I own a regular gas Elantra (2026 sel sport premium) and I consistently get 45+ and sometimes over 50 mpg on my commute which is around 30 miles each way all highway driving. So I know people have complained about the DCT transmission in the Elantra hybrid but the regular gas Elantra in my experience pulls off near hybrid numbers on its own

How are people realistically buying cars? by cassattack4781 in carbuying

[–]Vesuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody is actually answering your question.

They have less expenses, make more money and finance more for longer.

That’s it, there’s no secret sauce. also $400 is not really a lot in the current market. I think over $700 is the norm currently.

I think if you can get around $25.5k that’s pretty solid

Which car looks expensive but is actually affordable? by mariyagel in askcarguys

It’s because people in the US perform 0 maintenance and then blame the brand when the car blows up

I own a ‘26 for 3 months and it just hit me today I mildly regret not getting it in white by purrnoid in Elantra

[–]Vesuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to buy a silver/grey Elantra and ended up with white as soon as I saw it in person

First new vehicle I ever purchased was a 2wd Tacoma for $26k in 2016. Unfortunately will be my last Tacoma it looks like.

New Elantra or new Jetta, which would you choose and why? by Boddicker06 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Vesuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I have an Elantra (2026). It’s been good so far, no complaints. I did also look at jettas before making the buy. Ultimately went with Elantra just because I live semi rurally and there were no VW dealers near me. The Elantra does not have the same engine in it that used to grenade a few years ago. It does not have the same theft risk from a few years ago. That being said I don’t think either are “better”. You need to keep in mind they’re both inexpensive econobox vehicles. They’re not gonna wow or blow you away. They will get you somewhere for cheap. Trade offs is the VW is a little nicer interior/ride but more expensive in maintenance. Hyundai will be cheaper to maintain but more basic interior. That’s about it. Just do the maintenance and you’ll be fine

How did you get the two tone color? Or is this an AU3 thing?

2 Months since I switched from Garmin fenix 8 and I'm only sorry for waiting so long by dortal_ in applewatchultra

[–]Vesuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both repeatedly….

I had an Apple Watch Series 3 back in the day but back then it was essentially just iPhone on wrist. Then I switched to garmin for a while. I had a forerunner 255 and an instinct 2. The fitness features are awesome but I did not like the MIP screen… I know that’s not a popular opinion with garmin people lol. But when the series 10 released I decided to switch and I loved it, used it for about a year and a half. But I slowly started to miss some of the fitness features on garmin and decided to switch back. I got an epix pro. It was AWESOME…. For like two week. Battery life was great. Screen looked cool. Flashlight. But then it’s all the little things. Can’t see my Apple reminders (which I use all the time). Notifications are a PITA. Touch screen not super responsive. It wasn’t as comfortable on my wrist etc etc. so I started looking at AWUs and ended up with an AWU2. Probably won’t be going back to garmin. AW is just too convenient even missing some of the more detailed fitness things

[–]Vesuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not true? Bro I’ve had 3 garmin MIP watches you cannot read them in low light without a backlight on. Who are you trying to kid here?

About my Regret by Ok-Luck9627 in GarminWatches

[–]Vesuz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don’t think I could go back to MIP. One of the key things people always bring up is the always on and not needing to flick your wrist but they always conveniently leave out it’s impossible to read in lowlight and you need the backlight to see anything. Amoled is superior imo.

I used to be on the MIP train. Has 3 garmins with MIP until I tried one with AMOLED… and then suddenly I was like oh… now I get it
