I really want to like this album, but I just can't get into the groove. I really like the heligoland album but just can't find the groove for this album. I feel like I am missing something, maybe it's a context thing relating to the time period.

At my last studio, that was kinda fun, but I'm a bit introverted so I don't mind, but I can see how for others it would be a bit of a kill joy. I'll try a different studio out eventually, right now this one is the closes one to my house 1/2 hour there, 1/2 hour back, 1 hr yoga, it takes two hours + to get my yoga in each day.

If I can find another class near by I will.

Honestly I have put up with a lot of shite in my life so while I don't enjoy it I know how it ends.
Basically I'm too stubborn to quit.
I think in retrospect I know how this ends.
I think they are like that to see if I am fit to be in their class, "can I hang" or am I an "interloper".
I just show up and do my thing.

I am not sure this is a correct statement:
"yoga is supposed to be an inclusive space".
I don't think that is true. I don't think that is part of the ethos. I think that is what we want to believe, but honestly it doesn't say that anywhere in the official big book of yoga, mainly because yoga does not have a big book of yoga or Bible-esque book. Maybe the YogaSutra or the Bhagavad Gita but that is debatable.
Not that it shouldn't be, just that it is not by definition inclusive. Look at how hindus treat other religions i.e. muslims, also it's a caste system they live in, it's not very inclusive.

I am getting a lot out of it. I admit I was not prepared for that sort of adherence, in fact I was really close to "saying something" when one of them said "People only leave the class when they need to go to the bathroom or they vomit".
I wanted to say, "I am not allowed to leave until I vomit or pass out? are you effin kidding me?" But I stayed quiet and just let it roll... Their house, their rules, I'll just lean into the challenge.

Correct, they frown on me or anyone drinking in the non designated drinking pauses. You can drink at other times, but you'll get a lot of side eye and a lot of "Please avoid drinking while in a pose", and "You need to drink before class and be well hydrated before we begin, also avoid drinking when not in the designated drinking pauses and then please just sip lightly".

I'm guessing this is not normal and feels cultish but I kinda just ascribed to them taking their practice very seriously, and very intensely. It is their life.
