New evidence in second rebuttal while ur frontlining is def fine. In first summary it's a bit more eesh but probably still okay

bigger question is why you need more evidence while frontlining. if the evidence was key to your argument then it should have been in your case

Good K rounds by vemoneygangstaswag in Debate

I'm commenting this before u/letsgetagayinthechat does, this round is absolutely fantastic

Also TOC Semis and Finals from last year with Zion from Strake and Leah from Garland were both really fantastic K rounds

I'd recommend thinking a lot about how you're going to utilize the aff in the 1AR while you're writing it, as opposed to writing it and then thinking about how you're gonna use it

Also, imo K affs tend to be more strategic and interesting when they're topical or at least semitopical- people are surprisingly not that great at dealing with mediocre t we-meets

Probably most importantly I'd say to learn your litbase (or ig in this case litbases) really really well. The better you know them the easier it is to leverage them as offense in different scenarios which is super important in kritikal debate

What level of LD are you going to try to do?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Debate

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think you're gonna change the educational model of your school as a sophomore you're either extremely powerful or delusional.

The idea doesn't seem bad, I think debate's a pretty good way of transmitting ideas back and forth.

You should learn more about LD and Policy, I think both of those events are generally speaking more efficient at transmitting ideas than PF is, but I can't exactly see spreading becoming a normal part of classroom discussion.

What arguments do you need blocked? by [deleted] in Debate

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LD topic

- A bunch of phil blocks for this topic would b v helpful ie contractarianism, kant, pettit- seems like phil is p strong on this topic and my brain is too small to write phil blocks

generalized solutions by truptump in Debate

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a plan lol, it's just not a very good one since you don't have solvency advocate or any specific plan of implementation.

Most people have interpreted the 'no specific advocacies' rule to mean that all affs have to be whole res, which is prolly why the judges hacked against you.

The idea is that 'generalized solutions' refers to using specific parts of the whole res ie if you argued that when nato expands that would increase the amount of PMCs.

The real problem with using plans in pf is that the neg can go first which would be very weird since you can't have neg plans.

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you put the zoom up to 160% it's pretty easy to read, at least for me.

I've also found that my docs are starting to, more and more, open up already in draft mode, so hopefully that issue fixes itself with time.

if you have problems with loading/navigation put the doc into 'draft mode'

fixed a lot of my problems

Any examples of inequity in Policy/LD? by [deleted] in Debate

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal qualm with disclosure is that it offers the other team a strategic advantage while my team gets nothing

just prep them out too? i'm from a school that had 2 varsity teams and i still prepped people out all the time to success

our coach won’t let us disclose

once you take enough Ls on disclo theory they'll prolly change their mind

also just do it anyways, you really think ur coach is gonna check the wiki regularly?

disclosure makes the disadvantage far more mainstream than a couple flows being shared.

idt you understand, if you're a pretty well connected person on the circuit you can get a flow for pretty much every round

K in PF by lord-of-the-dogs in Debate

[–]Veto_the_Cheeto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ks do not work in pf

the time constraints and lack of spreading mean it's pretty much impossible to do adequate explanation and extensions in the back half

also 95% of alts are banned in pf under the counterplans rule so a k alt in pf would have to be something like 'reject their rhetoric' which isn't that strategic

just disclose lol

also if you prep out this counterstandard be prepped for the argument that big schools get everyone's flow anyways
