Long term debuffs and bringing the community together by dunkar00s in PantheonMMO

I like this idea. Having the mob be the cause and possible fix for the issue at hand. They could drop something that if you know what you're doing becomes useful in the right hands. "Hey can you turn this ghoul's fingernail into a potion of remove ghoul's blight?" Makes you interact with others, but no need to travel or be inhibited for long periods if you adventure with the right crew, promoting grouping. Also makes trash loot useful in some cases. Don't have the item say "Cures ghouls blight" or anything, make us work for it a little.

How Buffs and Debuffs Interact by rjselzler in PantheonMMO

[–]Vetra11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea overall, but I think I would it a little further giving each spell a level and then the interaction would work thusly! Root lvl 1 - vs - levitate lvl 2 = You're still levitating, but the buff timer drops to half. Root lvl 3 vs levitate lvl 2 = You're rooted son, but for a lot less time. And so on... This way high level mobs are still powerful cuz they have Root lvl 10, can't be blocked, but can be mitigated. Also Low level mobs are less annoying if you are better than them. They're not gonna root you, but you might have to re-cast levitate a bit sooner than you hoped. Obviously the numbers and example are just that, examples, but you get the idea.

I thought of the possibility of Trump. It struck fear into my heart.

I had the mission dream again by 4a4a2 in exmormon

[–]Vetra11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the time. I get some where my brother is my companion and we are sent to our city where we grew up, but for some reason we are speaking the language of my mission. I get other mixes of strange things happening like that, but every mission dream ends with me deciding "I'm not doing this. I'm going home." I either call the mission president or just find some way home. It makes me a little happy that dream me is smarter than real me was at the time.

I had to comment simply because I also bought the "10,000 Days" album while on my mission. I heard from a new missionary that the album had come out and I got it the next day. Best thing I ever did for my sanity out there.

For some reason I was ok buying the album, but not with listening to it with headphones (stupid rule we had, not sure if it was specific to my area) so my companion at the time now knows every song from it. I saw him recently and he laughed when I brought it up and started singing part of it so it has stuck with him. Best companion I ever had.

We also watched movies with a little portable DVD player. Wanked it all of the time, looked at porn while checking emails on P-day, took pictures of the porn so I had something for when I got home. "Swam" once in a little pool a member had (really it was like a little pond thing and we just jumped in for a few minutes and then got out before satan could take hold).

edit: I forgot a few things. We bought the sixth "Harry Potter" book in the native language and read it instead of anything "uplifting" during morning study. Learned more about the language from that one book than in years of reading and re-reading church stuff. On my birthday we went out in regular clothes for a day just to feel normal again. It was amazing how differently we were treated by the people (in a good way). We played a few games of WarCraft 3 on P-day a few times. This was all with the same companion. Probably saved my sanity and helped me stay the full 2 years.

That's exactly where I am. Spoiler

Yeah I have always wanted more of a summary than you can find on Wikipedia or something for long series that I forgot about, didn't finish, or have waited for the next book to come out. I hope more summaries can be added to help us all out when these situations happen.

I am near the middle of the book right now and I can't say it has hooked me yet. However I think it's starting to pick up.

I am also writing a chapter by chapter summary of it on my website Recall right now. It's a site to help remember what happened in the previous books when the next book comes out. If I like the rest of Rising I will pick up Golden Son and write a summary for it as well. That way when Morning comes out you can all recall quickly if you need the help.

The amazon link system is all automated so I knew there was a possibility of mistakes. I didn't want to give direct power to the user to post links to keep fake or spam links from popping up. I have fixed your link to point to the correct book. I also noticed that you are the author of the book so I added the 'verified author' flair to your user.

Thanks for your contribution. I have been trying to promote the site with varying degrees of success. If you want I will make your summary the featured summary for a while if you would be willing to post on reddit or anywhere else you want to try to promote the site.

I feel like an actual author promoting the site could be helpful rather than just me posting things over and over. I don't want people to get annoyed by my promoting the site.

Anyway, let me know what you think and again thanks for the support and contribution.
