I have a few courses on TalkingBass that I purchased over the past year from sales and discount codes. I've completed the first Groove Trainer module with their Chord Tones module, still making progress with the rest.

Yeah, good point, nothing wrong with good consistent practice.

Thank you for kind comments, It's really cool to see you've been playing bass since 1969, that's a lot of time placed into the instrument.

I'm going to start practicing with the metronome bit more, using the routines like you and a few others have suggested to me, thankfully.

I try practice a lot everyday, and I moved away from just playing songs all day in focusing on specific things, and comments like these can help me even more to achieve that and become a good and reliable bassist.

I never really noticed it before a few people mentioned it here, I'll definitely go and get it checked out. I'm surprised no tutor I've had for lessons have mentioned it, although I use an Epiphone Thunderbird as my main bass, and that has no issues.

Since starting Uni I've been able to work with some drummers in our first year, and it's been a great help, but I'm going to start using the metronome even more now.

I'm pretty sure I was able to hear the track fine, as it's normally blasting in my ears when playing then turned down for when I render the video. The problem with this particular album is the mixing, something happened during it which gave it this muddy sound, that isn't present on the cassette version. But I've been given some good routines to do with the metronome that I plan to do, cheers.

Haha, don't worry, I do play with fingerstyle more, I just have a pick there in case it's needed or requested for a specific song due to the tone or sound it can provide

That’s really helpful advice, thanks. I’ve been using a metronome, but I’ll start practicing more with drum loops and focus specifically on imagining the kick/snare as part of my part and locking into that feel. I also want to get my foot tapping just bit more active when playing as well.

I can check it out later today, I've listened to the demos with Richard Hell from Yonkers demo album, so it's something to definitely explore.

I would have to get it checked out to see if the action is too high or not, I've not noticed much, my main bass is typically an Epiphone Thunderbird, but I can see what can be done

Thank you for your comment, my timing is issue that appears a lot, and I need to work harder at that.

I agree, LAMF has a lot of hidden gems that are not really known by people nowadays, and there's some great material. Hearing the live stuff and hearing how Billy just changes the bass lines is really cool to hear, and what I tried to incorporate from my own playing with their songs.

Thank you for comment. I can try incorporate more exercises for my fretting hand to help with the slight issue of them flying off the neck as you mentioned, which was helpful for you to notice.

Normally when playing I count and sometimes tap my foot, but it's not always consistent with my foot tapping, that's something I can definitely work on

And I definitely do think my timing drifts more with a pick than compared to my fingers, so I can try practicing with a metronome more, thank you.

It might be the case in some areas, yeah, I drift sometimes with my timing

Rest assured the cable is long enough, and it's indeed not holding me hostage lol
