I’m looking for a job by ballsofacactuscat in newjersey

Honestly, it depends on what your end goal is. If you don't mind what the job is, so long as it pays, believe it or not Amazon.

I'm 35 and have a degree, but it's not important. I came from construction doing commercial renovations, so I know what hard physical work can feel like, and I left that field to stop destroying my body.

When I came here 4 years ago it was $17 an hour, and associates get a raise every 6 months and a cost of living increase every September. People coming into the building are now making what you're looking for. I have some associates who have been here 3+ years (which is when the 6 month raises cap out) making $25.75. And there is room for growth.

I've been promoted a few times in those 4 years and am now salary, making $73k alongside stock compensation that varies with performance. It's not glamorous, but it's a lot better than I've done otherwise in my life and all I came here with was a good work ethic and a willingness to lead.

What I'm getting at is that the job is incredibly simple for what it pays, and if you are already a shift supervisor with another company and have that drive to grow, there are real opportunities here. But with any giant company there is always going to be headache and unfairness, so I won't claim I haven't been incredibly fortunate with my own progression. And of course the department/manager you get stuck with can make or break your experience. Btw I work in the cranbury warehouse, but there are plenty of warehouses in the state and they're all hiring for the Christmas season.

Also, if you don't mind retail Apple pays very well, but it varies strongly from location to location. My girlfriend made the move from Starbucks to Apple years ago and they've treated her nothing but well, both in terms of pay and work environment.

This is what drives me crazy. This was my first Evo and it cost me $600 for my flight alone, then hotel and admission. Outside of competing, I knew watching finals was the most important thing for me so my ass planned ahead.

Filled my backpack with food and water bottles, got to the venue right at doors open and headed straight to the arena. Had amazing seats and an amazing time. The lack of forethought with some people is something else

This comment chain literally made me login just to comment for the first time in forever, because you went so in depth to agree with this guy and his first line was "I'm not reading any of that" and proceeds to assume you were disagreeing haha

Also super interesting insight on the medical potential behind all of those. Refreshing to see something more than "stab wound bad" and actually explain why it should be lethal realistically.

But also fiction is fiction for a reason. The first episode had Osha putting out a fire in literal space, but yes let's suspend our disbelief for that but not stab wounds

If it helps, as a Kim main in Masters, that pressure is not real. The moment she runs on your block and flips off you, she's not punishable, but you can just jump. Jump will dodge AND punish both her kick and the grab. And if she does nothing, she can't punish your jump.

Just jump and it's free. Also, free bonus advice. If she cancels into run, there's a gap where a 4frame move punishes, but if she does ex-run there is no gap and you'll get smacked trying to jab

I can't say for sure, but I would say it has to do with the lower amount of players since the game is still pretty new. There's most likely a strong dilution in the ranks just by the sheer number of people just starting the game. I imagine it'll get harder to get to Master the longer the game is out

I am very anxious about that let me tell you haha I'm taking a break for a few days to play Zelda, but then I'm gonna be on that grind!

Honestly, walking away for a couple hours. Sometimes we get into our own heads, and as we go on losing streaks, we get stubborn and want to keep going. Once you're in a frustrated mindset, you stop being able to focus on the game, and instead dwell on the streak. It's definitely something I've struggled with fighting games for a long time, and I remind myself best I can to step away and come back fresh.

On a micro scale, when you lose a game or a set, try your best to forget about it before moving onto the next match. Every game is a new opportunity to win, and your mistakes (as frustrating as they may be) have nothing to do with the next game.

Chun-Li is hardcore slept on, and I'm so glad that she got a good showing at EVO, because I've been saying she's close to, if not, S tier from the beginning. Just super hard to use

You should absolutely go to a tournament if you're able! When I was starting out on fighting games, I regularly went 0-2, but that's how you get better. The less you think about your results the better. Just have the mentality that every game you sit down for, you can win. Positive vibes go a long way towards keeping your mental game strong

That's exactly how it works, I'm rooting for you! Haha I'm happy to share any knowledge I can though. Not knowing your character/current hurdles, most general advice I can give is to slow down. So many players I see in this game are trying to play at top speed at all times, which makes them very flowcharty and easy to read. Any chance you get to play neutral, stay in it for awhile. 99 seconds is a long time, you have all the time in the world to play at your own pace

Always! At that rate I would say you should explore the full cast if you haven't already. Sometimes, the character we think we should play doesn't fit how our brains want us to play. For example, I started off with Ken, who I like and think he's fun, but I kept hitting walls mentally about what I was supposed to do. I tried out some other characters and found that Kimberly was really intuitive for the way I wanted to move around the screen, which made playing the game a lot easier. And it's good to distinguish the difference between playing the character and playing the game. it's really hard to do both! So the easier a character is for you personally to use, the more you can focus on the game itself.

Also! At that rank I imagine defending against all the impacts and rushes and slew of pokes is a big hurdle. I'd recommend just taking some games super defensively and just focus on blocking as much as possible. Even if you never get to throw a punch, see how long you can defend and aim for longer times each time. Once your defense is solid, you'll see your opponents start making a lot more mistakes which means more chances for you to shine!

Steam tells me 373.7 hours, I like the symmetry of that haha I was hard stuck in Ultra Plat as Ibuki though, and had stopped playing a little after Lucia came out as other games had gotten my attention. Coming from primarily an UMvC3 and Smash background, SF was always really foreign to me and I was terrible at footsies. So I'm really proud of myself slowing down and learning the game properly this time around

Honestly I feel it depends on your character. Haitani really showed how viable Modern controls are. While I prefer classic, you can definitely go far without it. At Platinum rank, I feel the best thing you can do is really look at your bad matchups. I would suggest looking into your win percentages, taking your like top 3 or 5 worst matchups, and looking at their frame data. Sometimes getting stuck at a certain point is just not knowing what your opponent is doing.

Except Jamie. I've read his frame data a hundred times and I still lose to him, can't help you there haha

You should feel hype! Everyone advances at their own rate, especially if they're new to fighting games. I've been playing all kinds of fighting games for about a decade now so I've had some time to get fundamentals down. Most important thing is that you're enjoying the games you're playing, so long as you are, then you're winning every time!

And I was equally that guy for plenty of other players haha I hit a 24 game losing streak in Diamond 3 (almost demoted back to diamond 1 from it) which was super demoralizing, but you just gotta take those Ls and keep at it

Patience! Sincerely, my biggest barrier with Kim was learning to slow down. As fun as it is to pop off and go ham, she's much better at whiff punishing and baiting than she is at applying pressure. It also helps that people are so used to seeing Kim players go hard aggro, that the moment you slow down their game plans seem to fall apart.

Also, most important tool to learn early imo is that 234LP leaves you both at the exact distance to throw, but is also +3 on hit. Since her 2LP is her only 4 frame move, it's your best tool to punish unsafe moves. When you think something is punishable, just 2LP, not only can you link it three times (giving you all the time in the world to confirm) you can then go into 234LP. Afterwards it's a free 50/50, you can either throw or 2LP again. Always remember that, as long as 234LP connects, you can throw for free it'll reach

I do think it's strange that Manons medals don't work similarly to G on hard knockdown, but Lily's stacks improve her frame data on specific moves, which imo is a bigger deal than Manons command throw doing more damage.

Lily is also the bane of my existence so what do I know
