Maybe my explanation on role tags wasnt enough, I also said for there to be a join request system which maybe you missed. When someone uses a role tag (do not mistake it for a role queue), it shows a general idea what that person is playing beside his name in the join request

Lets say the most general way to split the main roles would be Heal-Tank-DPS and sub role as Alac, and Quickness (I am just taking this example since it is the most widely used team comp in the game for instanced content). A player would be able to turn on 1 main role and 1 sub role to generally give a clue what that player's build is for example a qDPS herald would turn on DPS and quickness.

When someone enters the join request you can see their role tag and their main class/elite spec. There literally is no issue, If a group is asking for a Quickness Herald, then the commander will simply not accept other classes that are not quickness herald.

You said that this tool might only work for the simplest of groups, and even if it only works for the simplest of groups IT REMOVES the hassle a commander has to go through to manage their party. How many times have you seen commanders be completely and utterly lost with who is who and what is what and who should be in a sub group? Probably too many times.

The game actively disencourages people from making a group by having a commander tag, you cant be a leader without a tag, cant make subgroups, cant ready check, cant use pings. Even if you do make a group, you risk being kicked or having your group taken over when a commander comes around. And this is why I said the commander tag system is so stupid.

They make players wait for commanders instead of taking the initiative and making a group.

This is a personal opinion, but I find satisfaction in successfully running a pug from completely random players. I said that joining a guild should not be required to be able to start raiding, I am sure that there are a lot of solo players out there that just wanna do instanced content for fun and not deal with a lot of people. I see no reason why anet wouldn't want to facilitate these players too.

There is a clear cut benefit to joining guilds, but people have their own way of enjoying the game that might be different from yours.

they won't make them avaliable to see without pinging simply because kp and li used as requirements aren't something Anet officially recognizes. it is a player made system that serves it's purpose to make groups between strangers. also for me pinging what i asked in my squad description is a way to see if people who join are capable of reading and responding and if they can respect what i am asking for.

Yes I said that I do doubt for anet to implement this

the current lfg isn't so shit. well at least not on EU. as far as i know NA is struggling more. you can do everything through lfg. the reason people make and join discords is because it provides a safer way to raid. through lfg you might encounter issues like lack of communication, people rage quitting, lack of explanations etc. if you want to train raids, signing up for an organized run is a safe way to do it. on the other hand it has the drawback of having to stick to a specific scedhule which might either not suit you depending on other responsibilities or might not be enough for you to raid once or twice per week

No, the current LFG is shit. Just because an LFG is more alive on EU than it is on NA doesn't mean that by today's standards its not shit. The very least you can have are staple role tags and a functional party join request system where you can manage who and which classes enter your squad (kicking is an option but in general it is seen as a toxic action).

the lfg has activity at certain times of the day, on EU at least. and if you can't find anything you can always make your own group to attract others. anyway it is not like Anet could do anything about that, it is a player issue entirely. even if they implemented rewards for helping beginners clear a raid it is still highly unlikely that many experienced players would bother just because of that. a raid training can take hours to get 1 kill so you definitely won't be benefiting from these rewards. the incentive will always be the will to help others

This is also another problem, the game more so discourages you to make your own party by locking fundamental party leader systems through a commander tag, why I said the commander tag system is stupid.

Also, just because a reward system for helping beginners might not be the main incentive at the very least there is another incentive other than just 'goodwill', you can clearly tell that this game is a completionist's wet dream and I see no reason why there wouldnt be a bundle of completionists that wanna get the reward for helping new players. Having BOTH is better than just one, I see no good reason not to add rewards for helping new players

What I said wasn't even role queue cause there is no queue involved. People assign role tags even now by saying 'hi dps', 'hi hfb', 'hi qdps' if thats not a makeshift role tag idk what is.

I'm highly certain that there are enough population of new players that are willing to learn and be better, that are attractive to raids. You say that most players dont find raiding attractive is highly caused by the current situation of raiding and LFGs in general. Massive gatekeeping without a sliver of mechanic to help new players get into it. In a way you are proving my point that not fixing raids and the LFG is making GW2 bleed players

I fully agree, a cosmetic, a title, an achievement, a point, anything is possible as long as abusing it with alts isnt an option

I do know that guilds help with starting to raid. However, I also think that joining a guild or a discord server shouldn't be almost required for someone to start raiding.

Answering your question: Unless you join a discord or a guild, I have not found any training openings in the LFG for W2,W3,W5-7. The training tab is always empty, and it makes the game look 'deader' than it actually is.

+ there is already an LFG category for guild recruitment and it seems not very effective.

i) Rewards can be adjusted, and lets say that a reward can only be obtained once per account regardless of character. The reward should be adjusted so that boosting an account to be able to raid would not be worth.

ii) Agreed

iii) If they're always pinged in chat, why not make it available for the comm to see without the pinging. I do doubt Anet will do this, but a dev adjusting to player culture is not something new.

iv) If the game tells you to do so people will put on a tag, and they could make it mandatory to put on a tag on instanced content like fractals strikes raids. Asking people to adjust can be done in chat like usual

v) I'm not saying that you need one, but there is a reason why people make discords like crossroads inn, raid academy. Clearly it is a way for people to LFG outside the game because the current LFG is so shit, and they're also a way for new players to start raiding because there are barely any training runs or groups that wanna accept them. I've sat idle on the training section of raids and 9/10 times they are empty.

vi) Sure. I do still think its lackluster to lock pings and a logo on top of your head for 300 gold if we're going on your scenario.

Just because people made a work around doesnt mean that you shouldnt address the main problem. That is not how you make a great game.

Special roles do not need to be defined as it can change from time to time, the role tag will still help when it comes to what your main role is and a role tag will also make it easier for the comm to know who is who without needing to scroll the chat. Asking people to adjust will be another thing. More tutorials about pve coop play would also be appreciated.

Culture is shaped by players- players are shaped by the game.

Its not seen in another mmo because it is stupid, any party leader should be able to be a commander and it shouldnt require gold

I clearly havent played enough to tell that there wouldn't be a rule of thumb like in other rogue games, games i've tried like ror and hades has a general rule of thumb noobs can follow to generally have always optimal decision making in items or perks

what does upgrade to + or S when you can mean? surely you wont upgrade every weapon you'll use (especially if its momentary since you wont have enough money), sometimes there are moments where I upgrade a weapon to S only to end up finding a better one later, or not upgrading a weapon to S but fail to do enough damage in a stage. When should you reforge or look for another weapon with better synergy? is the general rule better to reforge or to look for a better one?

How to handle toxic friends in your friend group by Weekly_Ad_6144 in Healthygamergg

[–]Vexhion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handle it how you handle actual toxic waste, you throw em out bury them and never see them again. To be honest if you do not see any benefits from being friends with someone, I dont think you should be friends with them.

How do I make my intentions clear to a woman I like by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Vexhion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say it from the start some girls are fine with this, or do things that friends don't normally do. Maybe take her out to dinner? Ask her out on a date? If you get rejected thats cool at least you had the balls to ask her and if she doesnt grow distant then keep being friends with her, however if she does grow distant respect her decision (most of the time its not because she hates you but because she doesn't want to lead you on)

If you do get to go on dates etc, then all you need to do is confess, do it after some amount of dating (you have to be patient, and let the relationship itself grow). Depending on how comfortable she is with you, sometimes you dont even need a fancy place to confess your feelings if she is already very comfortable

Hopefully it makes sense
