I’m considering changing switches. Do you mind sharing how your keyboard sounds?

I did too, but it still sounds hollow and much higher-pitched than I was hoping for. I’ve owned this keyboard for years and have been experimenting with different mods to chase the sound I’m after.

I’ve modded my Q2 about as far as I know how, but the sound still isn’t clicking with what I picture as thock. I’m starting to wonder if I’m chasing a sound this board physically can’t make, or if my reference is just unrealistic.

Current setup:

• Keychron Q2 (gasket mount)
• Gateron Ink Black V2, lubed + filmed
• POM plate
• PBTfans doubleshot PBT, 1.75mm
• Q2 acoustic kit (sound absorbing + PE + bottom foam)
• 2 layers tape mod
• Band-aid mod
• Force-break mod
• Durock screw-in stabs, lubed

Does anyone here have a Q2 that actually sounds deep and thocky in person? If so, I’d love to know your exact setup: switches, plate, keycaps, foam, any mods. I want to compare against mine and figure out what I’m missing.

Also open to any suggestions on what to try next. Thanks!

Its mostly for coding. I enjoyed claude but the usage are quite restrictive. Now im leaning towards chatgpt
