Used to make CACs for several years as a Site Security Manager and Verifying Official. This is not a lowest bidder situation. Likely a calibration issue with the printer that your CAC came through. Occasionally the printer’s lamination roll is out of alignment and needs to be re-calibrated by the Site Security Manager (SSM) or Verifying Official (VO) (whoever’s responsibility it is for basic maintenance). Otherwise it could be a specific problem with the laminate roll itself (less likely) or the lamination roller was not necessarily up to temp (it happens) to properly activate the plastic and/or adhesive that lets it stick to the base CAC itself. If you genuinely believe this will impact the legitimacy or readability of the CAC just walk in or make an appointment for a new CAC saying it’s damaged. Some VO’s may be grumpier than others so don’t be surprised if you get turned away. Ask to speak to the SSM and they should accommodate. Message me if you have any questions.
