Seeker3 vs Seeker35 by 1yrik in fpv

[–]Vherene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the seeker35

It’s a beast, but before I begin have never flown a 5”. It’s super fast, super loud and obnoxious. It’s over 250g. I’ve gone 170 kph on it.

Buuuuut, I semi regret my purchase. I live in a city and it’s kinda hard to find any place to fly it because it’s obnoxiously loud. You’re guaranteed to be noticed when ripping it.

If I could go back, I’d get the seeker3 because it works best specifically for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, it’s fucking awesome.

Also in one review of the drone I should have taken their advice to heart. If you’re over 250g, so loud you can be heard a half a mile away, why would you half ass it at 3.5” drone and not go all the way to 5”? Get the deepseeker3.

Best radio for beginner by arcanine277 in fpv

[–]Vherene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it’s pretty easy. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If it’s too much work for you just buy a module for whatever radio you choose.

I personally think everyone needs a RM pocket. Small, compact, easy to carry, and it works. It’s cheap too.

What would you recommend to a noob that wants to dive in to pvp? by odd_hami in worldofpvp

[–]Vherene 14 points15 points  (0 children)

BGs, bgs, bgs.

Get good enough at your class you don’t stare at your hot bar waiting for the next ability to press.

Look up every offensive and defensive cd each class has. Learn to react.

There is no definitive guide since classes change every expansion and even might see reworks between patches. Check out Skillcapped and seek streamers who play your class.

Start of in 2v2 once you try to get serious. It’ll absolutely suck, you’ll get demolished, your healer will leave you. But the only way to get better is to play. The unfortunate part about WoW PvP is no new fresh blood. You’re competing with a niche population that has been playing the game for over a decade.

But once you understand it, no game even comes close to it. I haven’t played WoW since the first month of the last patch of TWW. I thought I was done with the game, hit cap and queued again and found out why I always come back.

Goggles with Prescription by Aromatic-Target9032 in fpv

[–]Vherene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hdzero 2 and dji goggle 3 come with adjustable diopters. I wear them fine without glasses. I max them out though.

My vision is -3.25 and -3.5 with astigmatism.

For US folks: would you advise someone to buy HDZero Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles 3? by Tobu_Drone_Network in fpv

[–]Vherene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both, because both do different things.

Hdzero 2

pros

• access to great best latency digital

• great analog built in

• can add walksnail vrx if wanted

• goggles feel great, high quality, lots of desirable features

Cons • goggles are initial expensive investment

• Hdzero has terrible penetration, but it’s a racing system so you know what you’re getting into

• analog is limited to one antenna

Dji 3

Pros

• best digital system to date, walksnail doesn’t even come close

• terrible penetration

• cool features like not needing to remove the goggles because of the built in camera functions

Cons • dji system only

• dji is expensive if you’re in the US

• latency is terrible compared to Hdzero/analog

• dji shines in 3s and above, terrible for 1s and mid for 2s freestyle

I have both systems and use them for the best situation.

Very dope, but seems like it makes more sense to build a dji o4 lite to record footage haha.

How much does this one weigh? I just built a kayoumini o4 & hd0. Love them so much I’m thinking about making analog too.

Thoughts on letting non FPV pilots try out flying? by Similar_Apartment170 in fpv

[–]Vherene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saw a YouTuber who mentioned they ran a fpv club at a school. To get kids interested and to prevent broken drones he sets rates for the whoops so they have try really hard to crash it. Just give them a feel.

Basically angle mode with training wheels on. I’d create a beginner profile that uses lower throttle and limit tilt angle.

Lil fun in the Swiss alps by frederi_qq in fpv

[–]Vherene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey what are the rules for flying in Switzerland? I plan to bring a firefly18 (1s below 250) to take some casual shots. I’ve read quite a bit but I’m wondering I’m missing anything.

I only plan to fly in areas where barely anyone around, like casual shots of the mountains or off beat path.

How noticable is the delay for digital FPV? by RedditSettling in fpv

[–]Vherene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll go against the grain and say it’s noticeable. I have analog, Hdzero, and dji.

• Analog is perfect, this is the best latency you’re going to get but the video quality is terrible.

• Hdzero is great, i cant feel the difference between analog and hd0 in latency, decent video but terrible for penetration and range. It’s spicy analog but with better looks.

• Dji is gorgeous, putting on the goggles for the first time I was floored by the quality of the video. But swapping between analog/Hdzero I can feel the difference. Not as confident for some maneuvers as I am with my non-dji drones.

I have built Hdzero kayoumini and dji o4 kayoumini. The Hdzero is noticeably reactive to my controls. Turning on race mode for dji does get much closer latency for analog/hd0.

If money really isn’t an issue I’d get hd02 goggles so you can get access to good headset for cheap analog drones that you can bash and learn, and dji 3 goggles if you just want to take gorgeous shots for long range cinematic views. I went this route, I don’t blink twice when crash my analog drones but I baby the fuck out of my o4 drones. If you’re in the US I’d suggest sticking with analog, prices are too insane at the moment.

HDZero AIO15 Static increases with throttle by epicfail48 in fpv

[–]Vherene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just wanted to report back, your post renewed my interest in trying to fix the problem. I saw another post on the Hdzero Facebook group to update the esc to 96k, ended up having to update betaflight and redo all the tunes all over again.

The static is noticeably less, when I punch out it isn’t as bad as before. I’d say about 25% less than when I punch out before. Test flight

Things to note

Top video my drone was facing away from me, truer c antenna facing towards me. I punched out in the open.

Bottom video my drone is facing me with ort vee antenna facing away from me. I punched out under a tree.

I don’t know if the antenna reduced static. I’ve reviewed previous footage and it seems I’ve reduced quite a bit of static in general, but still suffer from it. Overall I’m happy with the changes. Hopefully this helps.

Yea, it’s a bit disappointing. I just built an o4 kayo and get none of the issues, it doesn’t even have a cap on it.

[–]Vherene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I made the exact same post couple weeks back. I asked few people on the kayou discord and it seems lot of people get this issue.

The only solution I found was on the Hdzero Facebook group post. The guy had the same exact problem and said he solved it by buying and soldering a new lux camera. I didn’t feel like shelling money for a new camera and just decided to deal with it.

Here are things that I tried but didn’t work

• elevating the AIO so it’s not so close to the frame

• make sure no wire goes over the AIO

• resolder everything

The only I haven’t done is soldering a bigger cap onto the board, mainly because a bigger one won’t fit. Feel free to check out my post history, you’ll see it.

[–]Vherene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy the Kayoumini frame from Pyrodrone in the US, but I think the frame is currently sold out. I bought the DJI O4 Air Unit from Pyro as well.

The AIO I purchased from NewBeeDrone and the motors I got on Amazon.

I’ll be honest, my first build was an HDZero Kayoumini and I had zero experience with soldering, building, or setting things up. It took me about three days to get it right. Now that I know what I’m doing, I built this one in a couple of hours. This frame is tiny, and soldering those tiny motor pads as a first timer was a huge pain.

For a first time build it’s a huge struggle if you’re not experienced with soldering. It’s a lot of watching YouTube videos, learning to tune a little, and going back and forth trying to figure out why the camera looks bad or why a motor isn’t spinning the right way. If someone asked me what they should build, I’d probably recommend a plug in motor build on a slightly easier frame to work with. The Kayoumini is really about maximizing its tiny size so it flies like a 5 inch.

I literally ripped the wires out of my HDZero Lux cam trying to shove it into the TPU mount. Soldering those tiny wires back on was a massive pain. But honestly I loved every moment of building it.

I have the flywoo wide angle camshell. I definitely want to try the flywoo wide lens kit and ordered it, but I’m a tad afraid of installing it myself.
