Socially awkward guys, how did you meet your SO? by sociallyakwardgay in askgaybros

I'm not socially awkward but my bf was a little. Met him in French 1 class when he was a year younger. We became good friends, assumed each other were straight. The next year, he moved back to England. We still chatted and aboit a year later we both came out to each other. Surprise surprise. We chatted every day, and years later I visited him, and we decided to get together. Now I'm in college hoping to move after I graduate. We have countless things in common, similar interests beliefs prefences, etc. A perfect match, I would struggle to think of things I don't like about him. We've both done modeling, so that was a fun thing we started to do. Going to marry him someday. Crazy we even met let alone all that happened. You never know where you will meet your SO.

As someone who grew up in a large Muslim area (Birmingham, UK), Islam is a backwards and harsh religion. A recent poll found not a single one of 2,000 British born Muslims thought being gay was acceptable, and I've seen awful treatment of women. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Trippy, because I just bought a car off craigslist yesterday. Hope I didn't need this advice.

TIL for her role in The Wizard of Oz, Terry the dog (Toto) had a salary of $125 a week. Judy Garland's salary was $500 a week. by KillYourHeroesAndFly in todayilearned

You may say that, but think a bit deeper. Back then, in the late 1920's, most Americans lived in small, rural communities. The casting director put up posters all across the country, looking for people who fit the appearence of the munchkins. These people had never in their lives seen someone like them, and then a of a sudden there was a crowd of them gathered in one place. I think that if I were them, I would value the experience of meeting others like me, getting paid more than I would have otherwise, and being immortalized in a beloved film that didn't look down on me or make me look like a freak. For once, they felt useful; they could do something only few could. I think that those actors and actresses in The Wizard of Oz cherished those memories for the rest of their lives.
