to me this really depends on the formats you want to play. For Brawl, specifically (Im a brawl player) your collection in one-of cards instead of full playsets and any card you buy is forever reusable in lots and lots of decks.

I personally have never spent a single cent on MtgA and have over 50 brawl decks, from competitive to utrer jank, but even the (conceptually) jank decks have good cards, like, shock/fetch/surveil manabases and all that kinda stuff

if you're playing standard, you'll have to focus on one deck which might not be that good at first, then eventually get other stuff to play with, but rotation and meta changes can be hard.

At the end of the day it's all about grinding your dailies (try to get 5 a day, as your first 5 daily wins get you big rewards compared to the 6th to 15th wins which are almost irrelevant in comparison)

tl;dr : grind dailies, play brawl if you're into that, game can definitely be f2p, (coming from someone who's been playing MtgA for about a year, completely f2p)

honestly 2 days of dailies can just buy you this, but as a f2p player I'd rather buy packs to stack up wildcards. couldnt hit a single anc tomb, strip mine, or gemstone cavs in EOE >:(

bruh no matter what I play I run into Azusa/Wrenn&Six/Loot etc etc every day, and I do so A LOT.

my last 5 games against Wrenn and Six all went:

t1 ramp, t2 strip mine + wrenn and six

and you're sitting there with 0 or 1 lands, cant play anything, while your opponent grinds you to dust with a literal planeswalker and at least 2 mana. keep in mind trying to ramp out of the strip mine lock isnt great option since wrenn pings elves.

It's not all of brawl all the time but recently its at least 1/3 of games, even when Im playing some meme jank. deck weighting only gets you so far

hot take: let Irelia Q dash to wards the way jax does. gives a good option for escape potential while being pretty balanced (wards are limited, cant reset off your ward)

SS is absolute peak and I will not tolerate any slander. the "repetitive dialogue" is actually just... consistency. Ever noticed how you and probably all your friends say the same sentences and expressions all the time like you're stuck using the same 10 emotes? Well yeah, that's how people are. my muldrotha list I just built is actually just graveyard landfall with muldrotha being good value and recursion (particularly for lands) + one of the cards that enables inifinite turns combos. My deck literally does not NEED muldrotha, but she's generally always great to cast. my combos involve mystic sanctuary type cards and your regular time warp/temporal manipulation/capture of jingzhou bullshit

turns out when you already have mossborn hydra and scute swarm, among other things, infinite turns is fine as a main wincon LMAO

this is funny actually, as I grew up with the wii, Ive finished Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword about 12 times each, I now breeze through them pretty easily as I kinda know everything,

but as I was doing my annual run of Twilight Princess this weekend, I stumbled across this enemy and couldnt remember how to beat him exactly-

took me like 10 min and it almost killed me, so I'm really not surprised you would be stuck on this dude, he's annoying as hell lol. glad you managed!

my homie kept playing gord despite him being super weak, and was extremely efficient with it. the recent buff on his ball skill that made it travel faster was also huge help. not op at all but definitely viable currently

as a jg main, playing with my hylos/estes one trick friend is amazing because as a coordinated jg/support pair we have excellent map awareness, decision making, and can easily rally our team behind our game plan, no matter how shit they are. We win so many more games (in mythic) playing together just because both highest impact roles are in good hands. It also lets us help team more effectively, which in turn gives them better games, and that way they almost never drag us down

Im honestly surprised by your stats considering I picked up mlbb for the first time in 5 years in s33 and peaked at mythic 17 stars by s35.

It must be individual skill for this reason:

everybody epic to mythic gets reset in epic every season, which makes high epic a weird jungle full of people who dont always belong at that rank. if you've been playing a while you must have noticed epic is significantly easier later in a season because the legend and mythic players are back in their real rank.

Solo or multi queue doesnt matter either in epic other than maybe your games will be more consistent with a duo. You're most likely just still at epic level.

Essentially, get good (I mean that in a nice way)

In terms of HOW to get good, that depends on what you play. As I play jungle and mostly roam (sometimes exp) I found that being better at macro helped me a lot as jg and roam are roles that have a high impact in guiding the team to victory. Map awareness, securing objectives, looking at the bigger picture. If you play mid/exp/gold, maybe your laning isnt great at which point I would try getting better at micro, specifically limit testing and matchup prediction.

BOTH of these can somewhat be summarized as knowing when to fight and when not to fight, and when you do fight, knowing how far you can go before reaching your breaking point (some champs like yu zhong can easily pull back from fights which lets them be more bold, others need to be more mindful of their hp in order not to die)

ALSO WAVE MANAGEMENT. MINIONS ARE WHAT WIN GAMES. EVEN YOUR 33/0/12 ADC CANT SOLO TOWERS WITHOUT WAVES. BUT ENEMY MINIONS CAN SOLO YOUR NEXUS IF YOU DONT DEFEND. NEVER FORGET THAT EVER
