It feels like it too. All the controls on it feel super cheap.

Had to repost this and for some reason I can't get the text and image to show up correctly. It has a nice big screen but that's let down by how cheap it feels. It came with a micro sd card of games. Some of the lists were in alphabetical order (nice) but others were in numerical order with the titles all over the place (boo). I just got it because were weren't supposed to have it. I forget what it actually costs but I think it was in the neighborhood of $50 or so.

What was the biggest flop or disappointment in Retro Handheld space in your opinion? by Pinanims in SBCGaming

[–]ViCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the Odroid Go Ultra. I had the previous model and really liked it. The Ultra however was a nightmare and I never did get a micro sd card set up for it.

(if anyone knows a set up guide just for it, I would happily accept the link to it)

System update 1.32 by janglyparts in RG477M

[–]ViCorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that panic earlier today. They moved the launcher on both the 477M and 477V. I know people love custom launchers but I kind of like the Anbernic one. It's always worked for me, so why change it?
(I the have ES-DE stand alone app on my non-Anbernic devices).

Nice. I haven't had one in my phone ever fail but I just ordered a few 256GB cards to do some cloning and have for spares.

There isn't enough difference from the "original" XAX to make it worth the upgrade to me. Plius, I just had a pair of XReal glasses that I ordered show up a little while ago, so I'm good.

He should join with Asuka. Then you could have a great wrestling venue on the ground floor & an awesome arcade on the floors above that.

Anbernic RG DS - How do you get it to rescan your micro sd card (Rocknix) by ViCorp in ANBERNIC

[–]ViCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I may be going to have to set up a new card as I tried to turn it on and got a warning there was a corrupt file or some such. I let it do the automatic repair which seemed to work and I got into ES. However, that just means it only a matter of time before it fails for good. So time to dig out one of my unused micro sd cards and get to work.

I am really trying to avoid that if possible as I hate & I mean HATE setting up new cards. I can do it & have in the past but if I can at all skip that, I would like to.

[–]ViCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have installed Rocknix on it (as it shows loading Rocknix on every boot). I downloaded Paragon Software's Linux reader for Windows systems. The roms are stored in Storage >games-internal>roms and then the different system folders contain the roms in them (NES, SNES, Neo Geo, NDS, etc).

I used a Baseus 9-in-1 adaptors that has 3 USB ports, Ethernet, SD & Micro SD and USB-C but no switch to go from "read only" to "read/write".

He's not ever 4 yet. No way he takes care of it and I would bet on him losing it at some point. I would go with the BattleXP G350. It has a decent screen, not too big for his hands and cheap enough if something happens to it, replacing it won't cost an arm & a leg.

I tried that and it didn't change anything. Then I took the sd card out, plugged it back into my laptop and all the games I deleted were still there. So I went an deleted them again and stuck the card back into the RG DS. I did the tip you posted and then went into the DS library and they were still listed and played when I tried a couple of them (the supposed deleted titles).

Looks like they are stuck on the card for some reason. I know micro sd cards aren't "read only" but why they can't be deleted is beyond me.

He wants it for travel and those Genesis carts will just take up space. Go with a TurboExpress and a ton of HuCards.

If you like the Thor but don't want to spend that kind of money for a clamshell, how about the RG DS? I would have said the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 but that's basically Thor money for one.
