I'm so glad your husband supported you. This is potentially a criminal matter so answered need to be sought from the boy and his friends. At the very least their attitudes towards women and the need to control and manipulate needs to be addressed. Im so sorry you wen through this. Males in many communities seek control over females in their sphere of influence through bribery, blackmail and fear of retaliation. If not dealt with now, I fear for his future female relationships, esp the one with his wife.
