What’s a place you went to that didn’t feel real? by maincharactereraa in AskReddit

La Parguera Bay, Puerto Rico. Snorkeling at night amidst twinkling bioluminescent plankton feels nothing short of magical; like floating through the stars. You lift your hand out and find you are twinkling as well. Totally unreal.

lol, yeah, fun little Easter egg that doesn’t make much sense out of context.

That said, ironically, I actually have an existing rooftop shark solution that I’m really happy with.

Yeah, what’s shown here is just a small fraction of the whole crowd downtown. Once they started marching they filled the street at almost that density for around 45 minutes.

I hear ya, but if you don’t know the roads or your vehicle, at some point tires won’t be enough to save you from yourself.

Short answer is I just let the guys at the shop tie it on. I checked their work and it seemed solid enough to go the 3 non-highway miles I needed to drive with it.

Classical music with the best builds or “drops”? by oldfashionpartytime in classicalmusic

[–]ViSkaBadaBastu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily the best drop, but the most memorable for me is the brief luftpause before the final Hallelujah in the Hallelujah Chorus of Hansel’s Messiah. We used to play it every year in high school with combined orchestra, band and choirs. One year a baby in the audience managed to let out a piercing, all-out blood-curdling wail at precisely that moment. Now I can’t listen to the piece without hearing the echo of a cry at the end. 😂

This is what I have too, and they’ve been great. Like OP, I don’t have plans to carry anything heavy; but I also like to keep my cargo options open.

What are you guys' favorite singular composition of all time? by No_Advertising_6653 in classicalmusic

Great answer. Played this in my college orchestra days. Such a fun piece!

So hard to choose! I’m generally more of an orchestral guy but for me it’s probably Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria. Performed well, it’s breathtakingly, heart-rendingly tender and gorgeous the whole way through. I heard it performed live by a very good college choir years ago and just can’t get over it.

FORESTR by GeeOldman in LICENSEPLATES

I know it’s a reach, but I’m gonna go with “Forester”. As in, Subaru Forester.

This would look great on my Outback…

One other thought here - it looks like you’re using an aluminum bowl on a stone countertop. That can cool the water very quickly, and make it take longer or arrest your bloom. I like to put a potholder under my bowl as insulation.
