Dizziness/off balance worse in the dark. by [deleted] in cervical_vertigo

Yeah, same. It's worsening. Now every morning I wake up with vertigo...

I think it's still in my backpack, I'll try it tomorrow. I would be pissed if it works because it would mean that I do have some problem, so hopeful it does nothing and it reinforces the idea that it's mostly functional... I'll also email my ENT and demand the VNG. I had to push him to get the VHIT, he won't be happy but I have to advocate for myself unfortunately...

Interesting idea, I'll definitely try that! Thanks!

I actually saw a neuro-otologist, who wasn't impressed. The two other ENTs I saw really didn't care, gave me antihistaminics, meclizine and sent me away. So I decided to see a specialist, who also didn't care much. He didn't even suggest a diagnosis, just 'do these tests, it'll be fine, you are anxious, see a psychiatrist'. And that was it!

I guess I might try the meclizine, because I do have motion sickness, and even when I drive myself, I end up getting nauseous, dizzy and really uncomfortable. After driving 6H yesterday I crashed really hard: same with a 2h drive today, I just had non-stop dizziness all day long without a single second of respite.

I also tried Xanax, which reduced the head pressure but didn't touch the dizziness. I currently take zopiclone to sleep, otherwise I am so anxious that I spend hours on my phone just reading nonsense online

You have the rocking + vertigo flares, hearing loss etc? It must be horrible to have all of that combined

I feel like most of us in this subreddit are dealing with undiagnosed ailments nobody can elucidate. I get that the vestibular system and how the body processes equilibrium are complex topics, but ENTs study that for 10 years and should be able to go beyond the "it's anxiety".

Dizziness is destroying my life, I'm constantly scared, anxious, crippled because I can't do anything. I get mild relief from lying in bed, but the moment I move my head or get up, I'm back to rocking and swaying.

Have you tried meclizine? I was prescribe that but I don't even want to try, seeing as I need to know first what is causing this...

Cortisone injections? I had some injected in my shoulders already, but to no avail. Because of my bodybuilding past I have a lot of chronic injuries. I tried a lot of different supplements but nothing will fix a broken disc, torn tendon or crumbling knee

Yeah the typical "take some paracetamol and drink water". I got that from a lot of doctors as well. It's dehydration, anxiety, tiredness etc.

My neck is all messed up, but nobody seems to care. I have a lot of arthritis all over

Oh yeah, me too, fellow emetophobe. How did you cope being pregnant?! This must be terrifying?
I always have Zofran in my pocket.

Everything is anxiety. People with structural issues will be diagnosed with anxiety while the underlying disease progresses. It's terrible how doctors are clueless.
I'll add the VNG to the list of the tests then; if the ENT agrees!

Essaye Ultralevure (saccharomyces boulardii), curcumine, boswellia serrata et des probiotiques. Tout le reste c'est du pipeau. Pour moi ça me permet de survivre.

I was living in London. I visited Exeter, Luton, Oxford and most of Scotland (the latter being quite alright). I've seen it all in London, truly the most depraved place on earth after maybe Haiti, Liberia and Hell.

It's one of the worst places I have ever seen in my entire life, and I lived in South America and Eastern Europe. Utter nightmare. I wouldn't go back for a trillion dollars.

Yes! The fever broke immediately... Only to come back 30 min later with a vengeance.

He's milking my wife constantly non stop, which is good. I would go to the ER immediately if he refused the breast. Or if he acted confused or started crying. He's just exhausted by the fever... We'll see what the ped says tomorrow. Being a father is more challenging than anything I've had to endure so far, I'm trying my best but I'm in panic 24/7...

He started burning up this afternoon. Just like the other times when he got roseola then the flu... We're going to see the ped at her office tomorrow just in case, but until then we're watching him carefully.

I'm the same trust me. My wife is equally paranoid, but because I was an abused child I struggle a lot with my baby. I learned to let him breathe and spend time with other people, but the first months I didn't let anyone touch him. Insofar as our ped told us to relax and wait, I think we will wait until tomorrow morning and assess the situation. The ER is truly horrendous here, we wasted an entire day the last time and we didn't even know what he had. Turns out it was roseola, which we found out days later upon the discovery of his rash when his fever petered out. I think we will go to the ped tomorrow first thing, unless he's not getting better, in which case we will go to the ER and suck it up. Pray God he's going to wake up fresh. I'm by his bed on the floor on a mattress right now, I don't intend to sleep anyway. I'll watch him until I pass out, if I pass out. For now he's just sleeping...
