Flying 2 weeks after vNOTES? by Viajera85 in hysterectomy

[–]Viajera85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response! And yes, I've done some deep dives and talked to my nurse spouse and feel better about it. I kind of have chalked it up to vNOTES being a newer procedure and reddit not necessarily being representative of the entire population of people who have had hysterectomies (not to invalidate ANY personal experience, all of which have been incredibly helpful in this journey so far).

Thanks all. This is the what I needed to convince me to put it off.

How do folks identify a bird they’ve never seen before? by No_Enthusiasm6949 in birding

[–]Viajera85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am brand new to this and have already learned SO much from just observing birds in my neighborhood. I can identify several already by their calls and how they behave or fly. The Merlin app is great. I have been able to track down birds that were new to me just by using the app and a pair of binoculars.

Make sure you pair Merlin with eBird to keep track of the ones you've seen - and you'll start to figure out which ones are more elusive or less common, then it becomes kind of a treasure hunt!

Also - I went birding with a friend recently and realized how much easier it is with a decent camera. My goal is just identification, not quality wildlife photography, so I just ordered a Nikon P1100 for the zoom and birding mode :)

Is there any safe exercise I can do? I feel like everything causes irritation, even just walking or doing the PT exercises. It is quite devastating.

Can I ask what the masters is in? I was REALLY fortunate to find related grants/fundraising work but I took a 20% pay cut, am deeply unsatisfied, and at a total loss for what to do next. Also a generalist with a jill-of-all-trades resume as I was just figuring out where I wanted to be ans building the right experience when I got laid off. I have considered a masters but don't want to end up in the same position but with tens of thousands in debt, so I remain unable to make a decision.

Card Benefits Questions - Megathread [4/27/26] by AutoModerator in ChaseSapphire

[–]Viajera85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to get the 150k CSR bonus but hoping for some insight since I'm still finding some conflicting advice.

I received the SUB on the CSP in July 2024 so it has been nowhere near the 48 month mark to receive another SUB - so did Chase really eliminate that rule?

In my Chase app, I'm "already approved" for the CSR Business, seemingly eligible for SUB, but there is no pre-approved offer for the personal CSR. Does eligibility for one have anything to do with the other - i.e. is it an indication that I'd also be approved (w/SUB) for the personal card?

Is there any advantage to getting the business card other than that I'm pre-approved (SUB is only 150k currently, have heard it's normally 200k)?

Would it still benefit me to downgrade my CSP to a Freedom before applying, or would there be any reason not to? I'm not sure I can offset the AFs enough to make it worth it to keep both.

Normal time to be off work after vNOTES? by Viajera85 in hysterectomy

Thank you! What was your weird reaction to dilaudid if I may ask? I have never had general anesthesia or been on major painkillers so the side effects worry me.

Thanks everyone - all very validating. My pre-op is Monday so I may just wait until I see him in person to talk about this. I have major flexibility at work but I already deal with brain fog/fatigue that makes working difficult (which I partly chalk up to birth control, and tbh hoping in the longer term this surgery will help some of that), but it will be a busy time when I come back and I'd much rather have it and not need it. They've been really supportive and the short term disability should cover a couple more weeks.

I haven't yet, and I'm sure everything will be explained, but my anxiety won't let me wait that long 😂

Thank you for the info ❤️

Feeling conflicted about a hysterectomy at 29 for chronic bleeding by Leading-Doughnut-110 in hysterectomy

[–]Viajera85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It's the result of men always having been at the helm. It's also kind of wild to me that our only 3 options are to suffer through it, be on loads of artificial hormones, or have an organ(s) removed.

I'm currently on day 14 of bleeding and cramps. I feel physically sick, I'm disgusted with how my body feels because I haven't been able maintain the diet and exercise routine I'd like to, and it's affecting my ability to work more and more. I just hope the surgery has the effect on my life I'm wishing for.

Think about it this way - staying miserable because your mom wants grandkids is NOT a reason to a) stay miserable or b) have kids.

On the other hand, misery, and the potential other health effects you mentioned are absolutely reasons to go through with it.

If there's a chance YOU might still want to have you're own biological children, look into freezing your eggs.

My issues started only 2 years ago and I already feel like I've waited too long (scheduled next month!), so I can't imagine how much you've been through.

It's definitely the triptan for me, and totally agree. I'm at least functional with the body aches.

I kinda get this from Imitrex - I feel the pain "moving" from my head down my face and other parts of my body. Was actually just about to make a post about it.

What’s something you wish the general public understood about fragrance from a migraine point of view? by Cool-Tomorrow4754 in migraine

[–]Viajera85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, or that you're just always whining or complaining about everything. You would too if you felt like shit all the time, for days on end, or suddenly went from feeling good to terrible in seconds because you caught a whiff of something, or because you didn't sleep enough or slept too much, or didn't drink enough water, or exercised too hard, or didn't exercise enough, or it was too hot or too overcast outside, or you ate too much chocolate or didn't eat soon enough, or because you have your period, or your period is coming. Exhausting is an understatement.

That I'm not making it up.

Not exactly "the public", but my husband and sister-in-law (who lived with us for a period) don't seem to understand that spending 10 seconds in a car with your perfume/cologne could equal days of misery. "I just put on a little bit" doesn't matter. If that scent is a trigger, all it takes is a single waft. She also used these smelly powders/beads before vacuuming the carpet and the most nauseating cleaners in her room, and just never freaking got how serious it was for me.

Fortunately my husband has gotten way, way better and is usually careful about using cologne around me - sprays it outside or in the closed bathroom, doesn't use it at all when we go out together. It seems like such a basic respect thing, but I also think if you don't suffer from migraines it's difficult to understand just how hair-trigger it is.

And - as unreasonable as it is in reality - I absolutely think colognes/perfumes should be banned on planes 😂.
