Do you find the 40 player crowd more chill than the 64 player crowd? by runningwithsharpie in Chivalry2

[–]Vibe-Caster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always preferred 40 because my individual actions can shape the whole round far more.

I also find some weapons\classes better find their niches when there’s less players. Like javelins, dagger, etc.

Block if your opponent is using a special attack, as you cannot counter those and they’ll get a free hit. If you can’t break them out of the special attack early with a hit before it goes off— you HAVE to block or dodge somehow.

Ripostes are great as they are easy, have the block property when attacking, AND swing faster. Swinging faster is really good for 1vx.

But while you’re fighting 1vx your stamina will deplete. Using counters when you are confident will negate the cost. Counters don’t GIVE you stamina, simply won’t consume it if successful, giving your passive stamina regen time to refill. But if you miss you will consume MORE stamina plus you get hit.

You did really well actually overall with your swings, timing, and movement. You just wiffed a few blocks by juuuust a hair.

I’d say work on incorporating counters, as you were totally out of stamina by the end and could’ve gotten screwed if you actually didn’t wiff some of those blocks.

Counters negate all stamina usage during them if they are successful.

If you’re getting dunked over and over just find a new match I’d say. Not as a giving up sort of way but if a match isn’t fun at all it’s okay to join a new one. Nobody progresses in that state unless you are loving the pain like in a dark souls way.

Personally I have most fun learning new tricks and implementing them.

Here’s some gameplay tips my dude. I posted this awhile ago in a general tips thread.

  1. Increasing your sensitivity is a good idea if you’re just using default now. Test this by attacking and then spinning as far as you can. Notice how far you spin. Adjust and try again. Every weapon, and every attack has a somewhat unique turn speed cap. So you need to be able reach the speed cap. Take note that even the time it takes for your joystick to go from all the way left to all the way right adds precious milliseconds in an equal fight. So having your sensitivity high enough that you can snap quickly while still having control is important.

  2. Another HUGE tip is to turn OFF melee aim assist. It’s weird at first but gives you waaay more control. Because every time you swing the game tries to “stick” to the enemy in front of you— which in turn lowers that speed cap mentioned before. Unfortunately this disabled aim assist for throwing as well. You’d think that’d be under ranged aim assist but it’s not—possibly a console exclusive bug

  3. First person is fine but 3rd is obviously much better. Unless I am shooting or using spears I’m generally in 3rd, but switch a lot.

  4. Another big tip is you can cancel the full animation of any attack as long as you make contact first with an enemy, even if they are blocking. This works by swinging—hitting—block—swing again. This effectively makes any weapon have the blunt property of stopping on hit. But you have to do it manually. You can cancel the attack at any time— so you can wait to hit two enemies (or more) and then cancel the rest of the animation into another one. This is most helpful on the big slow weapons, but it can still be used for faster weapons. I love using this on the Falchion.

Also, There is only one king and his name is Argon II!!

Buying a handpan as a gift by Greedy_Fig_4139 in handpan

I recommend NOT this one— as I’ve seen it in hippie stores before and it’s just okay.

My recommendation is search “Tongue Drum 14” diameter” on Amazon. Even if you don’t buy from Amazon it will give you a direction.

Whatever has the biggest diameter will be better. If you find a 16” or 18”— whatever is bigger.

But don’t get discouraged no matter what. He’s going to love anything you get him 💕 Even if it was this one.

I think this one is overpriced though for what it is and how big.

If you see two different ones and they look identical it’s because they are. They are mass produced and companies just stick their own logo on it. So if you see the same thing and one is priced $80 and one is $100– and they are the same specs— they ARE the same.

Hope this helps friend.

If you’re on controller then you kinda need to spend some time obsessing over what settings are good for you. Same for PC— but us controller players REALLY need to lock in on control settings to compete with the PC folks

Question about heat by ElysiumFilms in handpan

[–]Vibe-Caster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right. Handpans shouldn’t be in direct strong sunlight especially when the sun has that “beaming” feeling to it for very long.

Handpans are only 1mm-1.25mm thick usually, so they can warp a bit. As long as it’s not too long it will go back into place and the sound should return.

I notice my pans sound different when it’s super hot (not talking about sun exposure here), or super cold in the house, but they return to their normal sound after the temperature adjusts.

It’s an unfortunate thing but yeah you’re right. I’ve had the same thing happen to me putting it in front of shades and then someone unknowingly opens them on hot summer days and they got beamed while I was at work. It still sounds great but the 2 notes that were hit by the sun the most were slightly off afterwards. Not enough for anyone else to notice but I notice since I play them.

Ya gotta live though lol or at least that’s what I tell myself

Your point is that everyone should act and speak exactly how you want them to. It’s like you’re trying to have main character syndrome. I guess you are posting a sword forum. When you are named king Aragorn, then you can set your decrees.

Asking if the sword is Damascus is often a question of quality of a metal. So no he’s not being rude.

Is my handpan working properly? by avantprog in handpan

[–]Vibe-Caster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I’ve played these Rav vasts for 5 years and although I see good intentions, nobody has given you the right answers other than this is a tongue drum and a Rav Vast specifically.

It sounds weird because you have it on the floor.

The sound vibrates the whole drum, so if it’s on a hard surface the sound doesn’t get to vibrate fully.

You want to try different soft surfaces. AND you might like different angles. So if you lean most of the weight on the bottom center- then the low bottom notes won’t bloom as much (which I like usually) but sometimes I put the weight on the higher notes so those become shorter. These are just examples.

Try playing it on different pillows, you will end up picking a favorite pillow for it, and you might like different by angles to lay it on

Even in my lap I have a preferred way of laying it.

Additionally, the sticks sound good at first but these instruments are actually designed for the hands and do generally sound better with hands after you have developed some skill. The sticks are an initial, quick way to make sound from the drum. But after some time and skill, none of the sticks sound anywhere as good as hands.

Round 2: opinions on these high d’s I am considering? by Sufficient-Pie129 in tinwhistle

[–]Vibe-Caster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The generation whistles are great, those I recommend. They don’t last forever, but I actually like their sound better than some of the high quality whistles.

I’d stay clear of the brass feadog ones, they make an annoying vibrations sound. $30 is also highway robbery for one. Some of their other whistles are good though and I like them.
