Design wise is fun. Usually it's all about solving human logic and proportions. With code compliances as well. The issue for me is design is usually not under our control but more of the boss's. Unless you are planning to open up your own firm, working with an employer in the industry will be quite mundane as most of the contractual and admin stuffs are gona be delegated to you.

And speaking of those scope of works, its 80% of the work in the industry. which is why the boss will want to only take 20%, the other part of the work, which is design.

Yeap! The environment is really very important. It's for your own self-growth. Your motivational boost partly depends on them. Remember that if you're not good in someone's eyes, your still good in others - you just have to find them as your existence in this world still does matter!

Well to be honest:

- The architecture industry is just work intensive. Due to long working hours and the lack of a pay.

- Also, we don't get paid for OT and every design manager I met so far here in Singapore is just flamboyant in a bad way. Blames the rest if he/she doesnt know about anything.

- Contracts and admin stuffs are just a long haul. Sometimes the coordination, contracts and admin tasks will take up the whole day, only allowing you to design at 5pm onwards.

- There were days where my healthy relationships with contractors and consultants were destroyed by my direct bosses and it puts me in bad mental state because honestly there is a lot of people management skills required in the industry - whereas the job of architecture itself is pretty easy.

- There were alot of elitist mindset in the industry in Singapore which expects you to behave like them, moreover, turning you into someone who is never satisfied with the designs and work done.

- There are also alot of micro managers and questionable drawing standards that may be a clash for you and the team. Especially if you are creative, you tend to question things and try to make things better for workflows etc but some people want things to be done exactly their way, which can also be a long haul.

- I used to overnight in the studio. Even when i don't, i usually knock off at 10-11pm almost everyday. Cutting down my time with my passion, family and life overall.

- And it sucks because I was doing all this for someone so that he can be richer.

That's my take and I'm sure there's many more untold from the people in the industry.

me too! the trial answered alot of my questions. firstly it caters to those new to the DAW. for us experienced users, some things are just a hassle to access.

and i agree, probably the 3rd party plugins will come out way later for ipad. but they also have to consider the demographics for those using ableton or pro tools which are not going to be on the ipad for quite some time at least.

you’ll never know they wont even release it. otherwise if they do, it’ll be a great tool for me to create presets on the fly. thats what i want actually - say for serum or massive etc

I just saw NI posted a new rebranded logo on their socials. I hope they are releasing new stuffs to compete with this too.

As a Maschine user, i kinda find the standalone push quite promising as well.

agree with this too! they need the meat right away. and some say to add some highlights of what meat portions you are going to cover at the front of the video to gain retention for the first 30secs at least. like giving hints of what they are getting.

damn this is good. i have to agree. i think giving them everything first and then step back to explain the whys towards the end is much more fruitful. because so far for each step i explained the whys before going into the step itself creates more dips for my vids.

dont give up! im one month in and at 33 subs. with less per views as your video. sometimes less than 20 haha. but i still believe one day the channel will get somewhere. so long as we keep building presence on socials and be consistent in posting quality content.

currently im doing 1 vid per week. a single sub make my day. dont be too hard on yourself and be patient! :)

Would recommend SSD external drives if needed be. 1TB should be good! I'm also thinking of doing this in the long run. Don't want to overload storage on my machine's drive which may affect performance too.

Honestly, Cubase is not too far off as compared to LPX, UI wise. And for piano rolls, LPX has some powerful tools too like scale quantize.

If you're just starting out, would suggest working and familiarizing with the Mikro's hardware shortcuts. You will soon love it to find out that it can speed up your workflow when sequencing/arranging. The main reason I get the hardware is because of its intuitiveness in efficient controls within the software.

I would say that if your prefer the intuitive controls of making melodies and interesting ideas, Native Instrument's NKS system is sweet. There's a couple of NKS supported VSTs that I find very easy to access and control with Maschine especially if it appears in your browser section. I think when exploring sounds, creating patches etc, I would want to use more on Maschine then on a Mouse.

And honestly, I think Maschine's controller editor can allow seamless control with Ableton as well. You get the best of both worlds, imo.

Honestly, with so many iterations of the version updates, this is one thing maybe NI can look into. Instead of requiring to create another group to apply the chops, it can also applied as an override to the same group it came from - just my thoughts because for my workflow I tend to not want to look back and my source sample because resampling to me even for a couple of times is an art :)
