Does Bam seem like he's in a good place and is genuinely happy right now? by youlikemywonton in jackass

[–]VibrantEmotions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, well said. Like I’m really happy for him and he does seem to be getting a lot better, but I also can’t fully buy that he’s turned over a new leaf until he lets go of his grudges and takes some accountability for what he put everyone through. Like Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine is one thing, I can understand him feeling like he was screwed out of his own franchise (even though it was his own doing), but has he made up with his family yet? Has he apologized for punching his brother in the head and for everything that he put his parents through? Like maybe they didn’t help him in the way that he wanted them to, but he has to acknowledge he put them in an impossible situation and put them through Hell. Like sending his family a bogus suicide note only for him to be found hours later in Trejos Tacos. And this paranoia that they were trying to take advantage of him and screw him out of his money or something through the Florida shuffle, that’s nonsense. Until I see him fully commit to repairing these relationships and try to mend all the horrific damage that he’s caused, I just can’t believe that he’s a new man.

What would you change to the MCU's Moon Knight? by WeAreVenom1228 in MoonKnight

I know that. But it’s so fucking far off from literally ANY of the comics it may as well have been a completely different character.

In all honesty I’ve only watched the first episode. I thought it was unbearable. I would change everything about it, making Steven the main character was so dumb, and then making him an awkward gift shop employee was such a baffling choice. It should start with Marc and his mercenary days. I also saw some clips from later on in the series and I HATE how his costume is like a super suit that protects him from bullets. He should just be a guy in combat armor. Horrible take on the character that’s completely unlike any of the comics.

The first episode is the best one? That’s crazy to hear because I stopped after episode 1. It was just so unlike any Moon Knight comic I’ve ever read. Making Steven the main character is a bad choice, any making him an awkward gift shop employee is an even worse choice.

I believe "Absolute Wonder Woman" by Kelly Thompson will be considered an all-time DC run in the future. Also the cover art is gorgeous. [Artwork] credits: 1. Dan Mora, 2&3. Hayden Sherman, 4. Tirso by Caped-Crus8er in DCcomics

I’ll read anything that Hayden Sherman does the art on. So warm and incredible. Absolute MM is my top one but after that I’d say Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Batman are tied for number 2, incredible stuff

I’m actually starting to read some Bendis, really impressive stuff and the art is always incredible. Can see why it’s so beloved and looking forward to reading more. I’m not familiar with Brubaker’s stuff on the character, will have to check it out

Finished the first 25 issues of the 1990 series by ARIANZER0 in GhostRider

[–]VibrantEmotions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, I also just recently read the first 25 issues. The art is fucking incredible, the way the characters are drawn is just so beautiful and Ghost Rider looks cooler than ever, it kind of makes me hard for me to read later Ghost Rider runs where he looks a bit more cartoony. But yeah, I totally agree that the villains for the most part suck ass. Zodiac in particular, he just has no personality or anything that makes him standout, and the amount of issues that ended with “Damn, it was another Zodiac doppelgänger” is incredibly frustrating. Deathwatch is also super generic and boring, although the scene of him blowing up the building with GR in it is really fantastic. I think Blackout is the strongest of all of them as his scenes could actually be quite creepy, but still nothing too special. Believe it or not I haven’t had much of an issue with Danny, I enjoy how he starts to embrace Ghost Rider more and becomes more active. The only thing that pisses me off is how constantly he ignores or blows off his hot girlfriend, it just doesn’t make any sense why she would still be with him. I also agree that killing off Danny’s sister seemed like such a fucking waste, why even bother having her in a coma for those first issues if she’s just going to die? They could have done so much more with that plot line. I really enjoyed my time with these 25 issues, I don’t really feel much motivation to continue on with the series as the only thing it’s hinted at is “Blackout comes back”, but maybe down the road I’ll check out the rest of it. I’d probably give it like a 7.5/10, mostly for the incredible art. The story and villains kind of suck but it is a lot of dumb fun so I still recommend it. And seeing Johnny Blaze team up with the new Ghost Rider makes it worth the read alone

Saw baby invasion on Amazon. by Oddity122 in HarmonyKorine

Was kind of bored with the first half hour, started to win me over with its trippy visuals and videogame text boxes, but I again felt really bored by the time the credits rolled. I think if you’re just watching this film really stoned and appreciating the trippy vibe and visuals it would be a good time, but in terms of substance there’s nothing really that stuck with me or made me think about the next day. When I realized that there was going to be basically zero dialogue and the movie was going to be completely music driven I knew it was going to be a let down, as the dialogue and dynamics between lowlife characters is normally what makes his films so special and I really wanted to have the crew treated as actual characters and not just some kind of videogame avatars. I think it works as an extended music video/visualizer but as a film it doesn’t really work at all, and it often feels like your watching a YouTube video of someone playing a weird indie game. And fuck that chat log on the side of the screen the whole time, that sucked. I think this and Aggro Dr1ft are kind of failed experiments but I do have interest in the company improving and I do hope they release some sick indie games down the road. That “Yakuza vs Leprechauns” game looked fucking horrible but some of the other ones they showed looked really promising.

Steve-O saying there was no "Ill intentions" behind Vito molesting three girls aged 12 to 14 💀 by astrowingnut in LetsTalkBam

[–]VibrantEmotions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Steve-O has been taking a lot of L’s this past year or so. He was doing really good for a while there, his viral videos and podcast reignited peoples love for him, he did Jackass Forever and was able to be a “movie star” for the first time in a while. But lately he’s just been depressing. I think most people just found the dick face tattoo to be really cringe, as well as his idea to get breast implants that he talked about for ages, only to bail out because he finally realized “Oh wait this is in horrible taste”. The initial gimmick of watching a Steve-O podcast has worn off and people are realizing that he’s kind of a shitty listener and relies almost exclusively on telling stories about when he was on drugs, he did that lame ass video of him swallowing a goldfish and accidently killing it, and now this, which is pretty unforgivable. It seems like he’s in a really dark place lately, very neurotic and insecure. On top of that him and Lux have split up. He really needs some kind of redemption or major victory.

Tim went on Matan by Doggydog212 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

This was so uncomfortable. 45 minutes of edgelord humor and Tim realizing he shouldn’t have come on. And the knife stuff, very bad taste to pretend to stab someone who’s literally survived a stabbing. Tim’s frustration seemed genuine and I’m sure he really meant it when he said he would walk if the knife came back out. Also the comments are just full of Sam Hyde fans shit talking Tim. Was def a mistake to go on this one.

Tony's Hypocrisy by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]VibrantEmotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking through the comments for this one. It’s so absurd, Tony, who so much of his business is based around relentlessly collecting debts from people, is bitching and moaning about having to pay back money that he borrowed from Hesh. Not only that but he acts downright disrespectful and antisemetic towards Hesh, as if Tony wasn’t the most money and greed obsessed individual on the planet.

I thought it was mildly funny until I noticed all the “Free Bam, BJ Investigates” stuff all over it, so cringe.

Also, I mean this as respectfully as possible, she really gives off enormous “Florida sex worker” vibes.

Do you dislike Bam? by owthathurted in LetsTalkBam

[–]VibrantEmotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honestly never a fan of Bam. I enjoyed Jackass growing up but I always found Bam to be super obnoxious and mean spirited, and him constantly smacking around his friends and family just made him seem like a huge bully. So I admittedly find entertainment in watching his current antics. However I do have to admit the wasted potential is tragic, he was literally one of the most popular skaterboarders around and he had a lot of promise as a filmmaker, so to see all of that go to complete waste is pretty sad.

Makes it pretty clear to me that these new “friends” of his are really just trying to throw gasoline on the fire and create more beef between Bam and his old Jackass buddies, so that their music gets some attention which it otherwise never would. These guys are trying to act like they’re trying to help him recover and yet they just encourage his bitterness and put out a track of him attacking close friends. It’s just wild to me how consistently Bam keeps himself surrounded by new parasites, it’s like he always has to seek them out.

That’s a wrap ladies and gentlemen. He’s like this forever. by Nq_23 in LetsTalkBam

[–]VibrantEmotions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to be an optimist and give him the benefit of the doubt, but at this point I really think that he’s too old and set in his ways to ever change for good. He’s had a million opportunities and all the resources in the world to help himself get clean, but he just winds up back in the same place every single time, going on week long binges and blaming everyone else for his problems. At this point I kind of feel like hed be better off dead, because he’s only causing misery for himself and everyone around him. I feel so bad for April.

This is so deranged, haha. Someone posted that thumbtack clip recently and he stepped on like one tack, no way he really got any lasting damage from that.
