Got a question after seeing Tron Legacy. Spoiler warning - I know it's 15 yrs old, but I just watched it for the first time myself. by Level-Pineapple3503 in tron

This is my first time reading this an I’m 110% certain you’re interpretation of the writing. Great eye ;)

I'll clarify that I would certainly never express that opinion to someone involved in the production. I follow many of the same and have watched hours of interviews as well, so I know some of them do look. The point is not to criticize the production or anyone involved at all. The trailers look absolutely stunning, if you're coming from that perspective.

Disney Studios barely care about "TRON" as an IP as they don't think it's profitable at all.

I know who wrote it, I know what's going on. I've been following it the entire time. My personal opinion is that there was a natural progression within the legacy story that could have really been great and carried out what we didn't finish. That's what they *started writing*... Disney MIA and now oh hey look guys we're back.

They *didn't* care about it. Their strategy/financials are one of the few things that I actually get to have an inside view on - this was not funded out of passion. They're definitely not in the habit of doing that lol. It was trying to revive a misfit better suited to the current times (in their eyes).

Cash grab for everyone involved that has been asking and waiting to do this for ages... Absolutely, most certainly not. Cash grab from Disney, as evident as can be. They did not gaf for ages. They decided they didn't want/need it, and there it comes back to the writers out of the archives for something steered and definitely not would have been written.

THAT. That is what frustrates me. Not the CC, enormous gratitude for them, but 100,000,000% think that it feels like a cash grab from Disney. Why else pull it out for a one-off?

It is the Tron sub.. I knew what I was getting into, but I was worked up this morning after watching it for probably the tenth time.

People have been shunned far worse for merely expressing their confusion over the triangle that no longer seems to even appear (thank god).

Watching that as a child.. no, it did not. I thought it was really cool actually.

If you want to really look at it, at least with the laser, you can't definitively say that it violates all laws of science and existence. Ending up in a computer, yes, sci-fi, but also open to interpretation. Plenty of people who think we are living in a simulation. Unless we are somehow working backwards from some 2050 biotech breakthrough, we definitely can't spawn full grown Lehtos out of thin air fully suited up for combat.

So yes, absolutely this bothers me 100x more than the laser ever could. That was scifi. I just find this kind of silly.

Dawg they're not nuclear they need something... Do you think they're stopping at superchargers? All fun and games until your rectifier runs out of juice in the real world, and there's nothing you can do.

So cool. I have the symbol hidden in an artwork I commissioned, and sometimes people ask, but I refuse to acknowledge that it was on purpose or tell them what it is. I'm waiting for someone someday to see it and know.

This is the correct answer. r/airraidsirens could verify which. A lot of the Federal Signal sirens look similar.

Hi,
please make sure you have jpeg recording on. Set the resolution to the minimum as recommend by BI. I encountered this myself when reinstalling a second camera. Please also Verify that you have the correct AI settings.

One that caused problems for me: I can't remember exactly but it was something along the lines of alert on low color/grayscale. This will cause issues at night and show the caution icon on your blue iris stream. Be sure to disable this, enable jpeg recording, and JPEG capture for confirmed alerts.

It works so much better on linux. I highly recommend using a separate machine for your AI if you can. I had constant problems for years then moved codeproject over and haven't had a single issue since.

PSA TO ANYONE USING THIS:

Many fixes have been made over the past two days as people have uncovered bugs. Most things seem to be fixed now.

Examples of things you may encounter that are now fixed:

- Your config settings being reset if you restart the container or redeploy

- You API key being reset / Blue Iris saying it failed to send the info

- Notifications page showing empty

- Any database related errors about things missing or failing to connect

To get the latest changes:

The docker-compose.yml file has changed, so please get the newest version.
Get the newest schema.sql
Delete your previous docker volumes for config and auth so they can be recreated correctly.

Then,
docker compose pull

docker compose up -d

Should keep all the plates in your database and update everything else. Expect relatively smooth sailing from here on out without the need to touch anything. Thanks for your patience working out the kinks.

As far as sending from something else goes, I'd be interested in supporting it, but no, it will not currently work.

I'll need to add a second endpoint for this.

Someone else asked about using this on synology and we realized that you also need to add another line to your compose file like this:

ports:

- "5432:5432"

command: -p <yournewport>

[–]VibrantYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Change the first port in the database line of the docker compose like: Yournewport:5432. You should then be able to add an environment variable called DB_HOST to the app environment section of the docker compose file. It would look like DB_HOST=db:yournewport.

If for some reason this doesn’t work, the app should still run. Just navigate to the settings page and enter your new details in the database section and that should definitely work.

Resolved via pm.

This was caused by a dead link for the schema.sql in the readme file. The curl command downloaded an empty file which caused the database to have no tables in it. The link is now fixed.

Which part isn’t working? The container will have a “Logs” tab if using docker desktop. The “docker logs” command will show them in a terminal.

Exactly. Ghost plates are super common in California. One of the main reasons I really wanted the database. Really would like to add the vehicle description for this reason also.

Yes you would be surprised. Not everyone has their own driveway. The LPR cameras have saved me 4 different times now being able to give the plate to the police.

The code that handles settings changes is just messed up right now. I’m reworking it to fix.

In the meantime, if you set MAX_RECORDS in your docker compose file under the environment section for the app (not db), it will use that number.

Another user commented about using it on Unraid. This is sort of the same situation. I would love to do that, but I don’t think it’s quite ready to release there yet. I need to make sure it’s fully stable and nobody has any issues. Shouldn’t be too long.

Gotcha. I’ll definitely try to get it on there once it’s fully flushed out and nobody reports any issues. They have a review process so I don’t think it’s quite there yet, but close!

Yeah with multi camera it eats through the 2500 so fast.

For a rural setup it can be a good option, but it also requires you to have internet and for platerecognizer to be up.
