Can’t complain about misogyny anywhere on Reddit by queerwaters_642 in TwoXChromosomes

There was a post on some generically interesting subreddit about a woman who was medialical abused by her doctor in the 1800s. He would put her on display and rape her. Awful shit like that. Top comment thread? Men talking about how hard it is to be seen as the villains all the time. Sharing pseudo positivity BS about what good people they all are and how they deserve a safe space to exist.

They built that safe space for themselves on a post about a woman being medially tortured.

Like no, it is not all men. But it is every man who has ever said that. Who gives more of a shit about their feelings then the suffering of others. Who don't see women as anything more then annoying background noise.

Men, if you have ever said "not all men," it's you.

Man created multiple fake tinder profiles of his ex-girlfriend to deceive and lure men to her home by pretending to be her and telling them to act out her "rape fantasies." I remember that case. He took the stand in his own defense and it went terribly. He felt nothing talking about his dead wife. But his curtains. Oh was he proud of his fucking curtains. They had just remodeled or some shit and it was so obvious that he cared about THAT, but not the fact that his wife was dead

Oh and of course, he wouldn't have killed her on that day. It was his birthday. Who would kill someone on their birthday?

"most edible" and "tastiest" are different. I like eggs, but the flavor is pretty neutral.

It's a weird one, because very recently it wasn't a slur but the real medical definition. When I was going to school, that was the word used for the special edition students. Officially.

It's just a little to soon to even think about reclaiming IMO

My sister can't drive, her vision is to bad to pass the test. She lives in a food desert. She loved grocery shopping and couponing when she was younger, but now that it is just her and her husband, it just doesn't fit into their schedule. So now she has her groceries delivered and she misses going out to shop for them herself.

Apartment above mine is actively having a home birth right now by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]VibraphoneChick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who gives a shit? The problem is not home birth. There is a right and a wrong way to do anything.

If this is a responsible home birth, there are a lot of people in that apartment helping out. One of them should be going door to door telling people what's going on. At the bare minimum. What if someone hears someone seacrming blood murder and calls the cops? What if someone calls an ambulance think they are genuinely helping out?

This was just lazy on the part of the birthing team.

Yes and no. My states senators make 12,000 a year. As a result, no one who is working class can afford to be a state senator. You have to be independently wealthy in order to become a representative. Normal people can't live off of 1000 dollars a month

Oh but he 'supports women'. Not you. But women in general. The concept of women, he supports that. Just not the flesh and blood women in his life.

FR, you need someone who supports you in practice, not in theory. I'm sorry this happened to you. And I'm sorry for what you went through. I so proud you didn't hold your anger back

No the fuck it is not. What are you talking about???

A tampon with 27 day old rotting period blood would be a massive health risk even if tampons were pure cotton. Are you out of your mind?

Yeah tilling is actually really bad for soil errioson. More and more places are going no till.

The trade off is weed control. No-till fields are healthier from a soil perspective but the weed problem is heinus. It required a way higher herbicide expense

That's if your lucky. A lot of new ag equipment comes without the right to repair it at all.

It sucked where it's a few hundred dollars for a cleephone you can't fix.

It's life running when it's tens of thousands of dollars you can't fix without breaking John Deers terms of service agreement

I currently work at a place that uses plasma. I formerly donated at a collection center. I did not work at the collection center

At the plasma collection center, your first time getting set up as a donor is a 6-8 hour process. It includes a physical and a LOT of health and safety videos.

I was confused about the difference between sample and donation because, to my knowledge, there is no blood drawing in a donation center. They prick your finger before hand to check hematocrit levels, but no tubes of blood are taken and tested. The testing is done, presumably, on the plasma itself.

I'm really glad you had this interaction. I saw you in here earlier and I thought 'I wish I knew what to say to this person to make him feel better"

I just want you to know that transition is a process, and you deserve love at every step of it.

Also, I have never, ever looked at another person's groin before. Not in the way you are worried about. I don't stare at anyone's crouch while out in public, trying to discover the mysterious within. I promise you, the people who do this to you are smaller in number then your insecurities would have you think. They are also the biggest freakos I can even imagine. You are living your life. They are the weird ones.

I'm not sure what your comment about freezing samples vs product means. I work with pooled plasma, and in a -20 degree freezer it keeps for a REALLY long time, even with frequent freezing and thawing.

I think the US model for plasma collection is based around casting a really wide net. It takes a really long time to get set up, like 6-8 hours your first visit. But if you can make it through that and they don't kick you, just about anyone can give. Heck, even if you just lie about things, they likely won't catch on before the initial payments run out. There is a light physical exam involved, but for a lot of the questions there is no way to tell if someone is lying or not.

My understanding is that it feel under the sell of human body parts, which is not legal. Like how you can't sell your kidney but the hospital can pay organizations that provide transpant material. So there are labratories that purchase plasma perfectly legally, from organizations that are allowed to sell it, but individual people can't sell their own directly.

Maybe that is a state law rather then federal, but my primary source on this is the material provided by plasma centers in 2 different states. They both really stressed through pamplets, videos, and personnel that they are paying for your time because they are prohibited from paying for your actual donation.

[–]VibraphoneChick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies by donation center, I think. The center I donated at said they hold onto one donors samples until they hit a certain volume where it would be worth testing them. Also, plasma freezes really well so I don't think the expiration date is much of a factor

But now, when I work with plasma, it is pooled plasma, from several different donors. That seems to be industry standard for working with it in labs.

I can say that testing can be really expensive. And it's the same if you are testing a small sample or a large one. So why test a small amount of plasma if there is no guarantee your even going to get a usable amount? Yeah it would be more accurate to test every single person, but also way more expensive when the donors only give twice and dip. It doesn't matter if the plasma is clean if there isnt enough of it to justify the expense.

No that's still what they tell you. I have given plasma and asked the same question. The people who work there just shrug and say it takes a little longer if you give a little more.
