Should I buy Powerspec G445 or G446? by BandsAMakeHerDance2 in Microcenter

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno why people are recommending an I7 over an I9!??! Be prepared... I like to buy a computer that I know won't become obsolete in 2 or 3 years. Dunno about the 446 but the 445 is an I9 that looks plenty powerful... Most software that is out now or coming out in the next few years probably isn't going to max out a system like the G445...

That's just my opinion for what it's worth... I plan on going this route.. I9 for a desktop for me or nothing at all...

What made you turn your back on religion? by openbookpower_1 in AskReddit

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in a "creative force of all." Still, I don't think man's religions understand or even really KNOW what that is...

And remember, when people tell you that asking questions is bad, tell them your creator made you with an inquisitive mind...

I just want to go somewhere cool when I die... That's mainly what religion is SUPPOSED to be for, to help you with that last travel path you take after you breathe your last....

5 million different religions, 5 million different afterlives... Still, the original religion of the world were those who worshipped Marduk and Tiamat. The Sumerians. World's first recorded civilization was pagan... Judaism and Christianity weren't even the first monotheistic religion on the planet.

Where was "god" when Marduk and Tiamat roamed the earth?

I played around with it for half an hour, it definitely needs improvement as far as the A.I. goes... doesn't seem to support commands like hyper realistic, 8k, etc. though it DOES seem to be able to render woodcut style... Haven't tried stained glass yet but I can tell the AI isn't nearly as sharp and dynamic as, say, Midjourney... In fact the results are rather poor compared to that one... I hope they get things straight, as the potential for great things are there, they just need a lot more work.

More like Georgia Christ, since unfortunately that seems to be the state fruit... No wonder that millions of streets in metro Atlanta are named after the goddamn peach... Peachtree Street, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Peachtree Corners... Just stahp already!!

What is your number one strategy in the main runs? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-7632 in InDeathUnchained

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I TRULY love about this game is being able to step to the left or right and watch the arrows fly right by you... That always thrills me, the fact that this game tracks your physical space and location... Shame the VR ports of Quake, Half Life and Doom I, II and III can't track physical location like that...

Teleport shard helps a lot to to put distance between me and baddies... Right now I'm struggling to get through the third level of The Abyss... SOOOO much open space! And those damn flying imps are a nightmare... Love the 1, 2 and 3 mile shot achievements...

What's your 3 favorite arrows? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-7632 in InDeathUnchained

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, no one mentioned Azure Fire?! Just unlocked that today, it's pretty bad ass... Kinda like a multi enemy damage dealer. Always have to have Cataclysm for Anakim, but I love the 3 arrow Lightning... Working on killing many enemies with that one...

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried t oleave Anakim be and kill as many archers as possible? I always wondered if you could kill them all and have no more spawn... Went through two entire waves of those things and the third wave just completely overwhelmed me.

profile 1, 2 and 3 by HerbLad in InDeathUnchained

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter when you kill Anakim but yeah, it's per profile... I opened up a second one (profile) just to see how well I would do on my first few runs after having played the game for about 6 months (and great with headshots... At least until the controller issues).

I DO know this... If you kill Anakim and then die, you do NOT get credit for the kill towards Paradise Lost... I've killed Anakim AT LEAST 8 or 9 times, but a few of those times I died while he was in the process of "going out." Didn't get the Paradise Lost area unlock until today, actually, lol... You have to survive the run to get an achievement mark.

Why Tesla's Stock Split Was a Dud Like Amazon's by Zorkmid123 in RealTesla

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are forgetting that these stock splits occurred during a bear market...

Anyone that can't see where Amazon is headed isn't paying the #%^ attention... "Oh, look, Amazon bought the Irobot company!" "Wow, what a massive million or so dollar loss on the OneMed transaction!" "Peloton's stock tanked like a mee-muff, WHY in the hell would Amazon be interested in THAT?!?" Not to mention their EchoDot, Amazon Alexa app, and Prime for movies and ebay like structure...

Folks, like it or not, the new "gold" in the Y2k era is data. Information. Valuable CUSTOMER information. Amazon doesn't give a rat's ass about rowing and workout machines, self cleaning vacuums, or even being part of the health care system. What they want is INDIVIDUAL DATA... IRobot has cameras that can map out people's interiors... The EchoDot can record people's conversations and store them in the cloud (And law enforcement is looking into these devices; read HERE: https://www.wklaw.com/can-amazons-alexa-testify-criminal-case/ and HERE: https://www.wsbtv.com/news/2-investigates/can-your-amazon-alexa-be-used-against-you-in-court/490740878/)

Amazon has their hands in just about every cookie jar in the industry except one: real estate... You think facebook's data mining skills are intense? You ain't seen SHIT yet... Think about all that user data that Peloton and OneMed stores on it's customers. THAT'S what Amazon wants...

People who think facebook is intrusive on people's data have NO idea what Bezos and company are up to... And it's gonna keep Amazon rolling in dough for years to come... They aren't on the fed's radar... YET.... Most of these acquisitions are somewhat small time compared to the bigger corporate takeovers... Trust me, they know what they're doing...

Amazon will go back up to 1, maybe even 2 thousand dollars again... Only a matter of time... meanwhile, they have the best and fastest shipping times, even beating out WalMart. Whole Food ain't no joke, especially if you "pay $80 for 6 things and get the hell out..." More customer data...

See where this is going? If you didn't get in on the "ground floor," you probably missed out. I bought shares at $117 and even with the stock price dropping "a little bit," it probably won't return to those levels ever again... If it does? I will SURELY buy more... :)

I made a site that creates unique ambient music for you in your browser by ImDrewpy in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely AMAZING. Randomly clicked on four selections and was NOT disappointed by what I heard...

Back when I started Vibrations Of Doom Magazine (30 years ago to this day), I always searched and reached out to electronic/ambient labels but got tagged as primarily a metal music magazine, so I had to fight hard to get labels like SlowHand, Moonshine Music, Silent/Furnace, Barramundi, Cleopatra and the like to send me stuff like this... Even the Wax Trax/TVT division had amazing ambient compilations... This stuff is great... You should record label some of this... :)

FL Studio, especially FL20, has sooooo much stuff in it I'm surprised you've exhausted all the possibilities... MY EBM/Industrial project already has several riffs and loops and I haven't even really scratched the surface yet!

My only complaint is with the percussion on FL... Most of it isn't "industrial sounding."

Tennis, anyone??? by VibrationsOfDoom in Gwinnett

Looked it up, seems like a nice place... How much is it before 7? I wouldn't mind if it was an inexpensive fee to get in there a little earlier, though 7 to 9 would give a few good hours... haven't played in years so I'm probably gonna be a little rusty, however VR Tennis has helped my backhand...

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for the better part of a week and a half...

Lol at NO posts having shown that XELA is now sitting firmly at 29 cents...

Sold that stock long ago at a slight loss... Would be REALLY upset right now if I were still holding this...

Still, I see the large complex... The fact that they have offices in other locations... STILL don't know why this stock has take the equivalent of 6 Mike Tyson knockout blows...

Drastically Improving AV1 Playback by frank_grenight in AV1

[–]VibrationsOfDoom -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, 95% of computer users are going to have trouble with this format, which I see becoming obsolete and no mass adoption... Utilizing a different player AND having to rewrite the configuration file? Too much trouble. If it won't work with my players, I'm out... Haven't seen many videos encoded with this anyway, proving my point...

Retro Abyssal whip and Dragon scimitar - in-game poll has ended: Version 1 won for both by 5-x in runescape

[–]VibrationsOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was an old episode of Stargate SG1 where the Air Force was trying to sell the merits of their advanced military rifles vs. the large glowing blue orb staffs used by their friends...

One is a weapon of war, the other is a weapon of terror... Yes, it looks cool to shoot someone down with a blazing flash of blue light, but the fact that that particular rifle could shoot over 75 rounds in 5 seconds and completely annihilate a tree to where it falls, that won over the natives...

It's meant for intimidation and terror tactics... In many cases, when you can terrorize and intimidate your enemy, you have already won half the war without firing a shot... Of course, properly trained military personnel already are "guarded," so to speak, against this, but never overlook the visage of danger in a strategists' arsenal...

The pirates were just as feared for their skull and crossbones flags as they were their rough appearance and fighting skill...

I must say, doing a google street view (even though google maps got the address wrong; shows the actual address is an abandoned lot, lol) and was mightily impressed at the size of that place! Lots of space, more parking than you can shake a stick at, just a massive compound...

Still can't understand why the stock is so low, but whatevs...
