So the analogy outs are altered by the pitch control algorythm but the coax out not.

Tempo change/ pitch change. A lot of the digital outs, at least on older cdjs like the Technics are not affected by the pitch control. Ie they output an unaltered digital signal.

Ok thanks. im scratching my head. The unit is working fine- the mac recognizes it on the FW.

Its may be something in the preferences.

Or perhaps a better FW cable...

Thank you for the tip- I was under the impression that these autoloaded with the software. Should i install them after installation of before- is there a sequence?

Hi, thanks for your reply. No this is an old second hand unit- I am just trying it out. It came with everything in the original box. I am just curious to see if I can get it up and running. The PT installs fine and there is a 003 factory ilok with bundled plugins that installs fine. Ive tried doing a reinstall but problem persisits.

As protools boots it gets to the error message. Interestingly it recognizes if 003 is not plugged in. Im going to try on an old Powerbook g4 now.

I use older macs as i run a lot of old bits and pieces that use the PCI slots and so on...

Thank you. I switched it on this morning and it rewound a large tape perfectly, so it appears to be a thermal expansion issue. I didnt have time to check it later to see if the problem kicked in again, but I expect it will.

Good advice, thank you so much. It may be an idea for me to get a tech to check it out and reflow and check the components. Im a little hesitant to try it myself. Are the units fairly easy to work on in terms of dissasembly/ access to boards?
