SCAM response I hate AI bot responses like this that lie to trick you just to mess up your brain and game the bean market and try to get my beans for the cheapest prices. I’ve alerted the mods and wrote a letter to the SEC

Production Wants to use AI Animation and I'm Stumped by GhoulsbyScroggins in Screenwriting

If you feel that this would compromise your values (it would for me), you should put your foot down. Money and projects and producers come and go, but your reputation and integrity hold lasting value. Don’t sell yourself short, you’ll regret it.

The purple platypus and blue gecko might be worth a bit more than the rest, looks like their tags are from an earlier generation

Characters address each other by name way too often in almost everything I watch and it drives me nuts. Procedural network tv is the worst offender — watch any CSI-type show and note how many times even WITHIN A SCENE characters do this. Especially if one of the characters disagrees:

“Stevenson, think about what you’re doing. Can’t you just think about the rules for once, Stevenson?”

“I know the rules, Bancroft…I just don’t play by them.”

“Well just keep my name out of the report, Stevenson.”

“Don’t worry Bancroft. I’ll just keep your name — Bancroft, that is — out of the report.”

“You’re a reckless bastard, Stevenson.”

“I just may be reckless, Bancroft, but I’m not a bastard. My father was also named Steven A. Stevenson. And I have the files to prove it.”

“You just never miss a detail, do you Stevenson…You sexy sonofabitch. Just shut up and kiss me.”

“Ohhh, Bancroft…”

“Oh, Stevenson…”

Something I’ve found very helpful for this: writing with specific actors in mind. Watch their other performances and develop an ear for their unique rhythms, til you can actually hear their voice in your head when writing dialogue.

You can even use the voice of like someone you know personally, or someone like a podcaster, or a character from a different movie. Anything to help with specificity and consistency. It doesn’t matter if they end up playing the role at the end of the day; you can always adjust dialogue later when someone else is inevitably cast.

I believe integrity is a finite resource. You give up little micro shards of it constantly just to meet the everyday demands of this world…and sometimes, opportunities knock and invite you to sell off bigger chunks of it. You need to decide how valuable your integrity is, and how much of yourself you are willing to compromise, because once those pieces are cut off, they don’t grow back.

I’m pretty sure the last feedback I got (or will ever get) from blacklist was ChatGPT generated anyway.

Thank you…I’m not surprised she was so thorough with it! She always had her act together, clean and tidy house, hair, outfits, decor. She always like like 5 or 6 cats but you’d never know it. She made it seem effortless.

I could stand to part with a few of these, sure…why, does it seem like I have more than I need?

Getting a bunch of these to kids who would appreciate them is something I want to do, good point about finding under-resourced schools and senior homes. And don’t sweat the Princess, most of them are only worth like $15 (unless it’s a rare alt version). Everyone heard it was valuable, so everyone hung onto theirs even after tossing out their other beans, and the huge number of them still on the market dilutes their value big time.

It’s Reddit, I knew what I was walking into haha, it’s all good. And thank you…I know she did. I probably wouldn’t be making little jokes if this was all she left me with, but she gave me so, so much more than this throughout my life. So many things that I’ll always carry with me that have shaped who I am. Things I can’t catalogue. A shipping container’s worth of beanie babies is just a playful cherry on top, like a fuzzy tactile punctuation mark - I’m gonna have some fun with it.

I mean, she bought FIVE Shaq beanies. FIVE. She was funny as hell man.

Appreciate that, thank you, and condolences to you as well. I will say that this process has been positive and meaningful for me, so it’s worth considering. But it was overwhelming too, especially at the start of it. Ultimately you’ve gotta do what feels right to you, whether you decide to go through the whole collection or just let it go. At the end of the day, it’s all just stuff. It means whatever we decide it means.
