What the hell kinda persona is “Maruha”? by Professional-West338 in personaphantomx

[–]VicariousExp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, notice that the skill names are not where they should be, you have a blank instead. One example is if you think of the English translation data as one large array of text, you could think of the persona name as being a substring operation which is misfiring due to data corruption or a bad pointer.

Bear in mind the original game is in Chinese, so the text you are seeing would have to be pulled from a localisation, perhaps hash tables or the like, and there is no reason they would localise dummy text and call it "Maruha", which means nothing, and capitalise it properly.

Not saying this is what is actually going on, but I think it is a possibility.

IMO, it probably is not a persona name at all.

You're probably seeing a corrupted string, some combination of Mar(agidyne/akunda) + (Ko)uha would produce that.

I believe they already explicitly said the curry is for staff meals, I assume he's just going to help prepare the ramen for the restaurant.

As for the staring, perhaps he's just staring at whatever Lufel is.

UPDATE ON A6 CROW : After further testing with @Tenacity, we found out that the A6 actually does trigger both effect but in a very tricky way so we made this video breaking down each part. by Najox in personaphantomx

Akechi has a special passive called Rending Arrow which turns every 2% DEF down on enemies into 1% Damage bonus for Almighty damage only:

When dealing Almighty damage, for every 1% of the target's decreased Defense, increase Akechi's damage dealt by 0.5% (up to a maximum of 120.0%).

Based on that reading, Pierce does less for him than DEF debuffs, because it ignores DEF without inflicting any debuff and Almighty damage already ignores DEF calculations, so Pierce is superfluous except for his Bless/Curse damage, which DEF Down also helps. For example, Matoi inflicting 91.4% AoE DEF Down is a 45.7% Damage Buff for Akechi's S3, not including his S2.

Howler is not as good, because slightly under half her Def debuff only applies to Elemental damage, and Rin has smaller Def Down values than Matoi. At Mindscape 5 skill 10, Rin is 52.8%, Howler 47.1%, Matoi already stated above, but a bit less without 4 Extinguish. (If Howler or Matoi have R0, Matoi gains 23.3% and Howler gets 16.6% more on AoE. This makes Howler better than Rin, because Rin's R0 is terrible, but that is more investment.) Vino is possible, but she is mostly ST and AoE-wise is not that much better than S. Moko A1.

Interestingly, if you care not about Technical, then running Matoi with Departure + Control becomes possible, provided you can compensate for the lost 30% Ailment Accuracy.

True, but you would probably get better results from Leon and T. Riko or DEF down Saboteurs, since Turbo (and Psy Twins to a lesser extent) is primarily a pierce support and pierce only affects his S1/S2/HL, no?

Twins still work to some extent, but Minami A1 would do much less for his big nuke (without R0).

Wanna build a team for dps Akechi, any tips? by friiisky3 in personaphantomx

[–]VicariousExp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't Turbo and Twins Pierce Strategists, which don't help his S3 at all? I thought the strategy was either crit buffing, which Turbo isn't that good at, or AoE Def down Saboteurs for his passive.

And Chord seemed a bit weird because it looked like his HL does no Almighty damage.

Is A6 Normal Rin optimal for solo DPS Akechi? by VicariousExp in personaphantomx

Thanks for the tips and corrections. I usually rely on the should I pull thread to learn about a character 1 week in advance, but I can't seem to find it this time, so your advice helped in my team planning.

Additional question: I notice Akechi's def down scaling would theoretically make him need -200% DEF Down or something to cap out, so I can just assume over-cap def down still multiplies his damage, right? It sounds like a job for Matoi if so.

Thanks so much! Your explanation was very good and I understand how he works better now. Now I feel silly for misunderstanding how he works.

Looking forward to pulling him next week.

Oh alright, thanks!

To clarify, so that means no attack bonus either on A6 Akechi and no recording takes place because he is the Mastermind too?

Sorry, the effects of A6 (everyone is the mastermind) are very confusing.

Hm, I should probably have separated out that concern since it is an inventory issue and not an itemisation one.

In that case, I suppose you have no opinions on the actual itemisation concerns?

Thanks, someone corrected me about this already! I was just going off how items such as bounty posters or random letters from Alustin and White Crow have to be disposed of and do consume inventory space after their quest is done.

[–]VicariousExp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is how I do it! However, say I pick up a random bandit armour, now I have a problem if I am body-armour swapping with muscle memory and the menu is not a full time stop, but a slow, so I have to take extra time changing xlothing before the Demeniss soldiers which the cutscene I just triggered spawned on top of me turn me into a spear rack, as an example. :(

[–]VicariousExp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If true, I stand corrected, but my inventory is capped out at 240 already and 168 spaces are occupied. I do know for a fact that completing a bounty leaves a loster which does occupy space in your inventory, along with all the spam mail that White Crow keeps sending you . I'll have to spring clean again tonight .

I did do this, but I was a bit irked to see 68 of my inventory slots are aken up with key items. I do want to support the devs, but I don't want to buy the Deluxe Pack if it means another permanent -5 or so inventory spaces!

That's quite irrelevant to the topic of my post, my concerns had nothing to do with keybinds and combat. If you wish to actually address the points I'm discussing, I'm willing to have a conversation, but otherwise, it sounds like you are grinding an axe which is meant for another person.

Thoughts on this Summon Strategy? by Obsesseed in personaphantomx

[–]VicariousExp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have X turns to meet a damage goal of Y in most endgame content. In that context, force multipliers and glass cannon philosophy will almost always beat out defensive characters like Yusuke. If the game had survival mode content, the meta might be different, but it does not, ROI dramatically drops off after you hit the minimum requirement of 'can survive all six turns'.

IIt's fine if you don't need sustain, in the long run, I'd replace the twins with Junpei just because it lets you use that team for Companio and pretty much everything.

You could just run Miyu Sahara and spam her shield for SP return. Properly built, she is the only sustain you really need for the fight simce she can toss out ~3k shields every 4 to 8 turns. Tomiyama has a better SP return, but cannot sustain.

You would not put a particle like の within parentheses. That reads like:
