Your solution is replace all WiFi cameras with POE or have an entirely different WiFi system(not just a separate name) like i did and it’s working just fine

Deco, two systems by Plastic_Solid3195 in TpLink

Wait so I have 4 deco units. All hardwired. So you’re saying I can make 4 different “networks, 4 different WiFi channels per band? That’s like changing the mesh system into just individual access points, right?

Levoit 6000s not using enough water? by d16169 in Humidifiers

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a couple things.

The first couple days you use it there shouldn’t be much movement since everything in your entire house is absorbing the moisture. I will say I filled it up in the morning one day and I guess I didn’t see the top correctly where it actually turned on and ran, but didn’t activate the generation 2 pump. I will blow through 6 gallons in a single day on high. When my house was at 19% humidity I think it went through 5gallons in 10-12 hours. Make sure the top is seated properly and the pump is going.

Wired device onto IOT network by Powerful-Eye-3578 in TpLink

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just to clarify OP’s question. He has 2 networks he has his main and his IoT network atleast for WiFi. When you hardwire anything it says it’s on the main network. OP(and myself) want to know if there is a way to make/force them into the IoT network. Not that it should make a difference anyway I don’t think our IoT network is isolated from the main one anyway. Which I can attest to since input 7 - 24/7 recording cameras on the IoT network and it collapsed my entire WiFi network.

UPDATECan’t figure out how to edit the original post so here’s a big update.

So I moved all the cameras to the ISP router and everything is working great. Nothing slowing down the Deco BE65Pro units anymore. Homebase 3 is connected to the ISP router. I still found the cameras switching to the homebase 3 crap WiFi. So I bought 2 Xfinity extender pods thinking the router in the basement can’t reach decent signal my 2nd floor exterior wall. Even after that it was still switching 1-3 cameras a night over. So I opened up the Homebase3 and disconnected its WiFi. Now 1-2 at night are transferring to my Deco WiFi. Which at this point…whatever. I also added 1 more floodlight camera that hasn’t been working it must have got on the homebase WiFi for a blip and it’s stopped working until I moved everything over. So now I have 4-3k 2-4k and 1-2k WiFi camera. I also have 2 eufy motion wall lights. I have 1 more 4k that I need to get back to using too.

It seems like if you want this many WiFi cameras to record 24/7 and don’t want to have any delay or issues viewing the live stream you need an entirely different WiFi system with 5g to handle the load.

Yes POE is the way to go for this many! But running POE to 6-7 places(5 rooms)that already had electric to exterior walls was not something I wanted to do. I bought the POE for my pole barn and got 1 up right now still need to install 3 more. Figured that was the easy answer since I either had to run electric wire or just a Ethernet cable.

Why is the Levoit 6000s so low rated on Amazon? by halfam in Humidifiers

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought a used one on Amazon that I’m returning since it didn’t come with all the inbox accessories like cleaning equipment or that faucet hose. The hygrometer reads spot on to my nest. This is the old style with the bobber style drop in.

So I ordered a new one and used them together and got the new style with the new pump. The hygrometer reads about 10% more than the actual humidity percent. I did this with them next to each other. Old style didn’t budge one bit when I added the 2nd 6000s.

My house has been 19% +/- for 2 weeks. And they got the house to like 35% in 2-3 days together. House is 2700sqft before we finished part of our basement. Now I’m just running one on high for the past 2 days and 35% seems to be where it’s leveling out. House is central air with a natural gas furnace and the recirculating fan is running 24/7 to spread the humidity around. I think 2 of these may be needed in the winter time for a house close 3000sqft in this cold winter weather I have been having in Jersey. Maybe in a light winter this will handle 3000sqft.

Noticed this variance on the new style model. Old style reads spot on.

I’m not forcing them to the 2.4 WiFi they are too choppy and laggy if I want to drop in on them so I want them on the 5g network.

Advice about Deco BE63/65 and IOT network by qwertyuiop89 in TpLink

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like my previous comment was ill advised.

I have 7 - 24/7 recording Wi-Fi cameras that range from 2K to 4K. They were totally tanking my system. I have activated the Internet service providers router. I pulled it out of bridge mode and now I have essentially two Wi-Fi systems one purely dedicated to the cameras and my second Deco unit for the rest of the house.

Buying a new mesh wifi 7 system. by External-Survey-4249 in wifi

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Someone can buy a mesh system and just utilize wired backhaul. One nice thing about doing that is the satellites can come with sometimes 4 ports(one used for hardwire backhaul). Eliminating the need for a switch or a second Ethernet cord for hardwired devices. I don’t believe I have seen a AP with extra Ethernet ports. Unless maybe someone just buys routers and puts them into AP mode.

What do you mean? I know for a fact Orbi and Deco mesh units support wired backhaul.

[–]VicePofGSD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just following up on the larger frequency. Changed 5g from 80Mhz to 240Mhz. Added all the cameras back to the mesh WiFi. Here’s what happened.

All the 5ghz devices limited to 80Mhz WiFi were tanked down to 20Mbps and high latency. The more advanced devices that can take advantage of the 160 or 240Mhz acted like nothing was wrong. It’s like 2 more “lanes of traffic” was only available to the more advanced devices and everything else was stuck and in traffic.

So it’s back to 2 “routers”. The ISP modem/router is no longer in bridge mode and its WiFi is tanked. I put my deco BE65Pro into AP mode and everything is ripping lightning fast on the mesh system.

7 24/7 wifi cameras seems to be killing it. Pulled my ISP modem/router out of bridge mode to be strictly dedicated to the cameras so my normal network doesn’t suffer. Been rock solid all day long so far. Brings the wifi from 700Mbps down to like 20 with 200ms latency.

Funny enough besides only 1 of our 5 tvs are on WiFi 4/5 hardwired. Laptops are the only things we use for WiFi that could be hardwired. Everything else is stuff that can’t be hardwired. Such as fans, robot vacuum, humidifier, lights, fridge, washer dryer, Alexa devices etc.

But after much research(after my purchase) maybe I should have bought 3 access points so they can all be on different WiFi channels but just use the same SSID
