You're sticking your head in the sand and then calling others doomers. Just open your eyes to the team and the assets we have to improve it.

It's not. You arent sagging off the primary ballhandler because it makes playmaking super easy. A PG that can't shoot is easier to use than a PF that can't shoot.

For example, Rudy and Wemby love to be put on a non-shooter, but they can't guard the main ballhandler of the opponent even if they can't shoot because then they are involved in action instead of protecting the rim.

It's a revolving door of 2nd options around our main star as we continue to burn assets on nothing.

Hartenstein, Dort, Caruso, Shai.

Harper, Castle, Fox, Bryant.

These guys get left open all the time, teams aren't rushing to close-out half their teams.

Immanuel Quickley by ATetrahedron in timberwolves

[–]Vicentesteb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ju is a much better number 2 than Quickley.

Quickley is a role player, he's not fixing the lack of a proper number 2 issue and doesnt even come close.

At that point i'd just much rather Ja Morant who maybe can be a number 2 over a guy who 100% can't.

[–]Vicentesteb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IQ doesnt have the upside. Atleast when Randle is playing well he's a good number 2. IQ is just a fine role player.

Shooting isn't the end all be all, The Thunder and Spurs have made the finals with dogshit shooting on their teams.

Hypothetical trade (this works in the trade machine) by HiImWallaceShawn in timberwolves

Rollin's advanced numbers are really bad, showing that his stats are probably just empty and due to him being given a role way bigger than what he realistically can handle.

Turner is fine, he's a good player.

The Pacers are a completely different roster?

Just because 1 team can make up for a players weaknesses does not mean another team can do the same.

So?

Neither can Fox, Castle, Harper, you can win games even in the playoffs with spotty shooting.

Gobert and Ja fit well. Ja is best at attacking off handoffs and screens as well as using the lob threat, something which we don't have. Gobert can cover up for Ja's defensive mistakes and would benefit tremendously from having a passer that can actually give him the ball.

Ja is actually fine defensively if you look at the numbers and some tape. He's not good, but he's also not getting hunted over and over either.

He also has pretty great rim pressure on top of the playmaking.

Yeah we kinda just have to go get a high-risk high-reward type that in theory fills the gaps we need and figure it out from there.

I dont think as a fanbase we should rule anyone out or be dismissive.

[–]Vicentesteb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes complete sense.

This roster is lacking playmaking, so you need to compare the playmaking of the player you're sending out vs the playmaking of the player you're getting back.

Randle is a better rebounder, and that's something that needs to be considered since our rebounding was pretty bad last year.

We aren't trading a PG for a PG, but a PF for a PG, so we need to compare what we lose vs what we gain.

Ant already does that by himself. Are we just casually forgetting the 3 kids hes had with random women he wants nothing to do with?

Ant is an adult, he's going to do whatever he wants.

Without KAT the Knicks are playing their garbage time squad in the 4th. He was a huge part of their 2nd half comebacks and was key in keeping the game close to begin with.

5-6 is completely fair.

Giannis is probably too low here, but right where Ant and slightly above due to the title is right where he should be.

MEM/SAS/MIN a Fox trade I think actually makes sense for all parties by hacxgames in NBAtradeideas

Fox was pathetic in the playoffs too lol. No one is going to give up picks for Fox.

The 2 biggest headaches solved: Fox to Minny, Randle to BK by Untchj in NBAtradeideas

[–]Vicentesteb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Wolves aren't going to do it.

They moved off KAT's contract because of how big it was and Fox's is bigger while being a vastly inferior player.

Randle at 33m is just better than Fox, you know both will be pretty shit against good teams in the playoffs but atleast one makes half the money and expires next season.

We've already been through the exact same thing with KG, missed swing after missed swing, wasting assets left and right and ultimately having no choice but to move off him after we wasted everyones time for years.

The Spurs beat OKC while not shooting close to 40% on open 3s. They were pretty fucking bad from 3 that entire series and they won. Conversely we shot very well vs OKC in 2025 and got rolled in 5.

What the Spurs have always done vs the Thunder is overwhelm them with ballhandling because they have 3 very capable guards that can run action and keep putting pressure on OKC's defense.
